Whole Foods, or as it is known ... Whole Paycheck Foods...
ha ha
cutting prices is the answer yes indeedie
carrots there were $8 a pound and that was at least 15 years ago. when carrots were about 39 cents a pound elsewhere
we never went back, ha!
There used to be a grocers in Dallas in the 1980s called Fresh Approach. Their prices were high, but my gawd, the meat section had the highest quality beef I’ve ever seen including in expensive restaurants. Sadly, they went belly up.
Only place I have seen that is more expensive than Whole Paycheck Foods is “Natural Grocers”.
These places are popping up all over Texas, but I can’t see how they stay in business - they are RIDICULOUS!!!
LOL, I’ve heard people call it Whole Paycheck too. :D
WFM on average is about 15% higher than traditional grocery items on like for like items, at least before Amazon started cutting prices. Certain items are higher than others, though. I can’t say I’ve ever seen carrots for $8/lb, and I worked in the industry at mid mgmt/exec level for more than a decade.
