If this really is from John the McCain, and not his wife or daughter playing Mind Reader, then McCain is nowhere near the Last Throes of his disease. To my understanding, most deathbed worthy cancer patients with this type of cancer are not quite so ‘loquacious’ just prior to death. Most are being managed in a coma.
Maybe he’s not even sick with that kind of cancer, and has other reasons for laying low. I do not want to see any ‘Lazarus Act’ with McCain, revived and ready to continue stabbing the GOP in the back.
It’s entirely possible that he said something along these lines orally to the ghost writer, who then made it “loquacious.”
He’s not ill at all, that was just an excuse to duck out of the limelight when it was coming out that he was the pass-through/document launderer for the Steele dossier.
It is excerpts from his forthcoming book, not McCain making actual statements now. However, you are right that most terminal patients are struggling to get through the time they have left and are probably focused on what they believe comes after death.
I would think he would have someone close to him to shut him up.
I mean, if he has had brain surgery, radiation, chemo, all that, his mental capacity could clearly be impaired.
I detest the man and what he has stood for. But it would be a human kindness to have someone take away or monitor his phone and email in some fashion.
I really believe he is mentally impaired. People with brain injury (from trauma, surgery, etc) can lose inhibition and filter.
None of us would be surprised at all to hear this vile pap issue forth from him five years ago, we have long since concluded that this is who the man is. But you would think his family or friends would want to protect him.
Unless, of course, they are using him.
