How do you put that line in your post? That looks so much better than the quotation marks I use. And Im too lazy to put in the HTML to make italics. Because then I have to put HTML all over the post or it gets garbled.

Its called a hard rule . Use (hr) substitute the html tags for the parentheses.

HTML is beyond me! I just paste the quote, put a couple of dashes ( - ) under it and voila, the line appears!

Please, please don’t use a page-wide line as a separator! It is already being used to separate one commenter’s text from another’s and would be confusing. Plus it takes more effort than just using the i-tag and the p-tag.
Use
>> at the beginning and <<
at the end of a quote.
That is all I used in typing this text for you, as wll as jut ending a line by hitting the “Enter” key.
