My boss back in the mid-80s served on a Navy destroyer in support of the D-Day landing.
He’s 96 years old, lives in a condo in Naples, Florida and golfs 9 holes twice a week. He also has a girlfriend...

Lolie said her father is “so excited” for his birthday, adding that the majority of Montrose will take part in various planned celebrations.

“He is a very humble man and says that he’s never done anything to deserve all this,” she said. “But he has.”

If you would like to send Ike a birthday card, you can mail it to:

Ike Fabela
C/O Nick Rodgers

I am sending a card out tomorrow. This veteran better rent a storage locker. He will probably get hundreds of thousands and a call from the President!

“For his 100th birthday on June 6 — which comes 74 years after he was miraculously pulled off a Normandy-bound boat on D-Day —…”

My Michigan resident Father was on that Normandy-bound boat on D-Day, but didn’t get off until the gate lowered and he stepped on Omaha beach under heavy machine-gun fire.
