“We came so close to losing our government. What were they going to do if they got what they wanted?”

Our gubbermint is illegitimate and irreparably corrupt. The rabid left are in firm control of our 4 trillion dollar stasi state. For all intents and purposes ‘our’ govt has been overthrown.

Gay Edgar Hoover—remember him?

Blackmailed by the Mafia—they paid for his Gaycations at La Costa and Manhattan and kept lots of incriminating evidence.

The FBI has been great at propaganda, not so good at crime-busting.

Watergate x 1000.

Add a bunch more zeros. Watergate was a pimple on a gnats ass compared to this treasonous coup attempt.

Any comparisons to Watergate greatly diminishes the true threat the attempted coup represented to our self governing republic. It's like comparing the Whiskey rebellion to the Civil War I in scope, impact and historical importance.

We should never allow weak moral and/or political comparisons to Watergate to gain any purchase whatsoever. It should never be forgotten that the attempted deep state overthrow of the legally constituted government elected by the people is the most serious threat posed to liberty since the CWI.

Worse, while it was never illegal for states to form a separate confederation and secede from the union - thereby creating their own, independent government - it has always been illegal to wage war against standing, lawfully constructed government authority through non-democratic means.

This is treason, pure and simple. It's literally the text book definition of waging, aiding & abetting war against the government. The punishment is execution; literally swinging by yardarms on the Mall.

Given Mule-ears past I would say the ‘informant’ could cause Mule ears to be indicted, for U1, mafia connections, etc.

I was wondering why NPR was doing a fluff piece on mueller yesterday. Nothing about the investigation or his shady history in Boston. Just that he was was sooooo brave in Vietnam.

NPs hero worship was just weird and peculiar, but if he's implicated in the IG report, then the mockingbird-directed stories to soften the blow make sense.

Within the span of a week, the FBI went from denying the existence of this mole to confirming the existence in a leak to the NYT.

Laura Ingraham nine minute segment last night

Mollie Hemmingway says the FBI admitted broad spying activity. National Security Letters, wiretapping, human. Laura names Stefan Halper at 3:00 or so. She cites Daily Caller, and describes the agent provocateur setup that Stefan led against the Trump campaign. One of several attacks aimed at derailing Trump as a candidate and as a president.

It is an ongoing effort. Active to this moment.

Well known that FBI is simultaneously leaking to the press and stonewalling Congress on the pretext that making the material known is a national security risk.

How would Obama not know there was a counterintelligence investigation into the political opponent? Great question. Of course he knew.

Shocked, shocked to find out the elections are rigged by the government. ROTFL. Here is your winner!!

The “informant” wasn’t there to funnel information out.

The “informant” was there to funnel dis-information in.

FWIW, we don't know that. Especially if the mole in question wasn't (just) working for the US...

“The FBI has been working in recent weeks to soften the blow***IF*** the identity of a top-secret informant who fed information to investigators early on in the Russia investigation is revealed.”

Just like signs that say “returned check charge $10, which are really saying “We Cash Checks”.

So, in the statement above, you have to change the “IF” to a “WHEN” to hear what they are really saying.

Meaning it is a foregone conclusion that the name WILL BE RELEASED and all they can TRY to do now is damage control.

What makes your point so ironic is that with each new revelation that comes out about this disgraceful mess, I am becoming more and more convinced that Trump's people knew about the covert surveillance, too -- and took active measures to undermine it.

"The FBI has been working in recent weeks to soften the blow if the identity of a top-secret informant who fed information to investigators early on in the Russia investigation is revealed."

Bad move.

Every police department in the US with more than what, three employees has an internals department, in charge of dealing with dirty cops, because everyone hates a dirty cop. Sergeant Friday told us all about it.

And now we get a tacit admission, at least according to The Hill, that the FBI is dirty to the top and is now taking action to protect the dirty cops.

So where is the "Internals" department of the FBI? Running interference for dirty cops now?

Everyone hates a dirty cop.
