Students across the United States will join a national march to call for tighter gun control and to highlight the issue of school safety.

The March for Our Lives was organised by pupils at the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Florida, where a former student is accused of killing 17 people last month.

The shooting, one of the worst in US history, renewed debate about gun laws and the rights of gun owners.

renewed debate about gun laws and the rights of gun owners.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed
Pretty clear language spelling out a fundamental pre-existing right to self-defense.
Well, you better get out your ear plugs after the shooting this morning. The screeching is gonna get loud yet again. Gun Free Zone. Perp fell through the cracks. Perp was bullied. Perp was a loner. No mention of the tool yet.
The "March For Our Lives" was organized and financed by George Soros. The students were useful idiot props exploited by the anti-gun leftists.
State courts in the 1800s considered the 2nd to be an ABSOLUTE RIGHT.
From the long suppressed 1982 Senate Report on THE RIGHT TO KEEP AND BEAR ARMS. 97th Congress..
https://olis.leg.state.or.us/liz/2015R1/Downloads/CommitteeMeetingDocument/68101
“The conclusion is thus inescapable that the history, concept, and wording of the second
amendment to the Constitution of the United States, as well as its interpretation by every
major commentator and court in the first half-century after its ratification, indicates that
what is protected is an individual right of a private citizen to own and carry firearms in a
peaceful manner.”
TYPICAL COURT CASE....
19. * Nunn v. State, 1 Ga. (1 Kel.) 243, at 251 (1846)
“’The right of the people to bear arms shall not be infringed.’ The right of the whole
people, old and young, men, women and boys, and not militia only, to keep and bear
arms of every description, and not such merely as are used by the militia, shall not be
infringed, curtailed, or broken in upon, in the smallest degree; and all this for the
important end to be attained: the rearing up and qualifying a well-regulated militia, so
vitally necessary to the security of a free State.”
So why wasn’t anyone there willing, able, and equipped to protect those kids/people?
Of course school should seem safe, but the actual effect is only gained by protectors willing to protect.
A culture where millenials run around with little more capability than a cell phone, money card, and ID...no capacity or tools to do anything else but communicate, purchase, and validate their identity. No pocket knife, no band aids, no flashlight, basically, nothing outside the consumer capabilites.
If one can’t conceal his/her firearm with the clothes on hand, get bigger clothes. The decision to be a responsible sheepdog means clothes are less about style and more about function.
Like the man said “...if you don’t vote like a gun owner...”
Gear weighs what it weighs...training costs money and time but that return on investment... practice is the only way to attain capability...etc.
rantish was not intended, but saw the source of the American gun culture in 10 charts and had a large ‘wadda they know?’
not bloody likely.....
.02, YMMV...
There were some interesting charts though. But, non Americans will never understand the concept of the 2nd amendment. No matter how much the study and chart it.
The interesting statistic for me was that the NRA spends only $3MM ANNUALLY on lobbying. Soros drops more than that in any given STATE.
Of course the study has the same bogosity of talking about "gun deaths" rather than total deaths that pretty much all anti-gun propaganda does.
The BBC twats don’t know squat of US “history” - other than the important fact that we twice kicked the Brits’ vile pussified asses; and, of recent unhappy memory, twice saved their incompetent nation of lime-sucking, inbred, royal cucks from total inhalation - at great cost to our country.
Perhaps, if they wish to learn of what a true “massacre” looks like, they should study “Wounded Knee.”
And, as far as the record for most deadly “school massacres” in U.S. history? Try this on for size: The 1927 bombing in Bath, Michigan. “In the end 44 people died, 38 of them students.”
It's not a "gun culture".
It's a "freedom culture".
The Second Amendment supports the rest of the Bill of Rights.
The largest mass shooting of civilians in US history occurred on December 29, 1890, near Wounded Knee Creek in South Dakota. It was the US government doing the shooting.
If anyone wants to live in a country where you can get tossed into jail for flipping the bird at a traffic camera, fine. I'll take my chances with "military grade" rifles in private hands.
The number of murders in the US involving rifles annually is about the same number killed by lightning strikes and much less than the number who drown or die from AIDS. Of all the countries in North, Central and South America, the US has one of the lowest homicide rates.
You can't compare homicide rates to Canada, the UK and Australia, which have far less racially and ethnically diverse populations than the US.
Next thing you now, the Left will take note of all the dumb, destructive kids born in America, and demand all men surrender their penises.
There is no chart that shows homicide rates vs gun ownership ranked by nation. There are many nations with low gun ownership rates yet have higher homicide rates than the U.S. This tells us that when human beings have a desire for homicide, they will kill with whatever they can get to do the job. The Santa Fe school shooter did not use a military style semi-automatic, he used a shot gun and had intended to use pipe bombs.
If we wanted to demonize anything, demonize Identity Politics.
Yes, moral teaching from the Brits after starving a baby to death in a ‘hospital’. Tell us again Britain about how you kicked the backwards Americans asses in the 18th century and defeated Hitler, Mussolini and Hirohito.
Bahahahahahaha I can't take this article seriously at all...
There have been more than 90 mass shootings in the US since 1982, according to investigative magazine Mother Jones.
Assault-style rifles, also recovered from Paddock's room, can cost from around $1,500 (£1,132).
Among the arsenal of weapons recovered from the hotel room of Las Vegas shooter Stephen Paddock were handguns, which can cost from as little $200 (£151) - comparable to a Chromebook laptop.
Some controls are widely supported by people across the political divide - such as restricting the sale of guns to people who are mentally ill, or on "watch" lists.
