I actually was told i would take a polygraph in my interview. I could have cared less but the stopped hiring in my field but i remember you are right. Polygraphs today Absolutely in fallible today. They are given by Doe at all nuclear sites where weapons are made or dismantled. I am at a loss as to why they are not given to stop leaks .
