Friday is the deadline for the FBI and Justice Department to give the Senate Judiciary Committee key documents in the Michael Flynn case.
It won't happen, because that's not how the current FBI and Justice Department deal with congressional demands involving the Trump-Russia affair. But sooner or later, Judiciary Chairman Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, is likely to get his way.
In a May 11 letter to Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein and FBI Director Christopher Wray, Grassley noted that more than a year ago, on Feb. 15, 2017, the Judiciary Committee requested a copy of the transcript of a Dec. 2016 phone call between Flynn and Russian ambassador Sergey Kislyak. It was that call that led the FBI to go to the White House to question the newly installed national security adviser on Jan. 24, 2017, just four days into the Trump administration. And it was that questioning that led to Flynn pleading guilty to lying to the FBI.
The Judiciary Committee request was bipartisan. But the Justice Department refused to hand over the document. Instead, then-FBI Director James Comey briefed the committee on Flynn and other issues on March 15, 2017.
"Director Comey specifically told us during that briefing that the FBI agents who interviewed Lt. General Michael Flynn 'saw nothing that led them to believe [he was] lying,'" Grassley wrote. Comey "led us to believe … that the Justice Department was unlikely to prosecute [Flynn] for false statements made in that interview."
On Dec. 1, 2017, with special counsel Robert Mueller in charge of the case, Flynn pleaded guilty to one count of lying to the FBI.

No delay! Speedy trial, as requested. Besides, these are foreigners come to America to defend themselves. The indictments were made in February. Mueller and company should be given choice: prosecute in court or dismiss with prejudice. Else, let the government pick up the defense tab and tab for the defendants to sit in the US waiting for trial.
Wait, I thought the fbi guy was rarin’ to tell his story since Grassley’s subpoenas gave him protection.
That is because they have bupkis.
There must be some (DARNED) good reason why the several congressional committees don’t:
1) Clean up the Capitol Jail,
2) Issue Subpoenas for the immediate delivery in person of the required documents,
3) Have the Capitol Police standing at the rear of the hearing room,
4) Toss the DoJ & FBI goons in jail as soon as it is determined that even ONE of the required documents is missing or redacted.
Don’t even think about letting them out until they get their underlings to comply.
Repeat steps 2-4 until full capacity is reached or full compliance is obtained.
Sucking the oxygen out of the air. Perpetual crisis and News story continually wearing over Rosenstein and Sessions. How deep in this is Wray or is the DOJ intimidating him and making the process slow?

Team Mueller anticipated that this wouldn’t start at all in 2018, because the Russians would seek delays. They really guessed wrong. I agree with you....dismissal with prejudice is a real possibility, and it would take big chunk of respect out of Team-Mueller.
Guess we will soon see.

This is about documents the fbi is withholding from the Grassley committee and the subpoena of one the fbi agents who was at the Flynn interview.
The farce with the Russians is a judicial matter.
The deep state desperatly needs a mass casuaty event. Something that would rival 911. It’s obvious these little school and concert shootings aren’t getting the desired results. Stay safe everyone.

The Defense tab should come out of Mueller’s personal sta$h or at least from what RosenWeasel is paying him.
Or kinda a modification of that.
