Initiative Petition #43 is slowly making its way through the ballot measure process in Oregon. After a massive response of challenges to the draft ballot title were submitted a couple of weeks ago, the state attorney general has now issued the certified ballot title that reads Prohibits assault weapons (defined), large capacity magazines (defined), unless registered with state police. Criminal penalties.
As previously reported, this ballot measure, should it eventually pass, would outlaw 95% of the guns that are currently out there, and instantly turn thousands grampas into felons for having an old tube fed .22 Marlin in the attic or a piece of plastic with a spring inside of it.
Of course the civil rights prohibitionists who are promoting this ban have to use vague and ambiguous terms like assault weapons in order to deceive would-be voters into supporting it. They even go so far as to define things that dont even exist such as A threaded barrel capable of accepting a flash suppressor or forward pistol grip or things that are so loosely defined that interpreting what they actually mean is nearly impossible, such as shroud attached to the barrel, or that partially or completely encircles the barrel, allowing the bearer to hold the firearm with the non trigger hand without being burned, but excluding a slide that encloses the barrel.
They just had a whackadoodle run down 3 wimmin at PSU.
Will they ban SUVs?
Will they ban private sales of SUVs?
Will they ban sales of SUVs to known whackadoodles?
Didn’t think so...
Oh, great. Another half a million people fleeing to Texas.
Sounds like the standard blue state AWB, except it’s even more badly written than most. (Evil features and 10 round mag limits.)
Oregon is becoming more attractive.
To the criminals who will not be fearing gun-owning home owners anymore.
Shall. Not be infringed. Welcome to CWII.
Remember, Sam Houston refused to take Texas out of the Union and was removed from office.

Houston was made a Cherokee by one of the Chief's early in his life. He tried to help the Cherokee's many times (and other Indians in the Territory, later OK) . He is said to have sought refuge among them on a number of occassions.
Absolutely no doubt. They want to take guns from non-violent citizens and leave them in the hands of violent criminals.
The language is almost verbatim to the language written in California’s latest gun laws. They are both poorly written and unconstitutional. After years of working their way through the state and federal appellate courts these laws will be thrown out by SCOTUS.
