F.B.I. Official Wrote Secret Memo Fearing Trump Got a Cover Story for Comey Firing
The New York Times ^ | 30 May 2018 | Matt Apuzzo, Adam Goldman and Michael S. Schmidt

WASHINGTON — The former acting F.B.I. director, Andrew G. McCabe, wrote a confidential memo last spring recounting a conversation that offered significant behind-the-scenes details on the firing of Mr. McCabe’s predecessor, James B. Comey, according to several people familiar with the discussion.

Mr. Comey’s firing is a central focus of the special counsel’s investigation into whether President Trump tried to obstruct the investigation into his campaign’s ties to Russia. Mr. McCabe has turned over his memo to the special counsel, Robert S. Mueller III.

In the document, whose contents have not been previously reported, Mr. McCabe described a conversation at the Justice Department with the deputy attorney general, Rod J. Rosenstein, in the chaotic days last May after Mr. Comey’s abrupt firing. Mr. Rosenstein played a key role in the dismissal, writing a memo that rebuked Mr. Comey over his handling of an investigation into Hillary Clinton.

But in the meeting at the Justice Department, Mr. Rosenstein added a new detail: He said the president had originally asked him to reference Russia in his memo, the people familiar with the conversation said. Mr. Rosenstein did not elaborate on what Mr. Trump had wanted him to say.

To Mr. McCabe, that seemed like possible evidence that Mr. Comey’s firing was actually related to the F.B.I.’s investigation into the Trump campaign’s ties to Russia, and that Mr. Rosenstein helped provide a cover story by writing about the Clinton investigation.

The deep state now just throwing crap against the wall.

Gotta say, Comey and McCabe are masters of the CYA knife-in-the-back memo to file.

Every claim made by the Deep State as to the justification for using the US Government intel and law enforcement against the Trump campaign has proven only to uncover wrongdoing by the Deep State.

The Steele Dossier turned out to be just a Hillary-produced unsubstantiated smear laundered through a former British spy, and the Deep State presented a materially misleading application on it in order to obtain a FISA warrant.

The Papadopoulos matter turned out to be only someone passing on a rumor that Russia had info on Hillary. Not a crime, and the more one looks at that, the more it looks like a contrived set-up.

And Carter Page as to whom the Deep State claimed there was probable cause to believe was a Russian agent involved in crimes against the US, turns out to be a long-time CIA and FBI source, including acting as an FBI confidential informant on a case against Russia up to May 2016.

Look for the Deep State to adopt the new line, "how about let's call it a draw?" No punishment for the Deep State, and they'll allow Trump to finish out his first term.

If you’ve ever fired someone, there are always ten reasons. Whole thing is ridiculous.

Why is McCabe out there still walking the streets. Doesn’t anyone care about “the children” anymore?

A President does not need an excuse to fire anyone. This is all bullshit.

Every federal agency is full of clock watching do nothings. These clowns rarely work even 25 hours a week. They are a sick, union, bunch of sorry as- lazy blowhards. They always have one extra employee to write nasty lies in the records of those they are supposed to serve.

OK, now I finally get it: the leftist fake stream media has abandoned the collapsing fake “russian collusion” claim, and have moved on to a NEW fake claim, namely “obstruction of justice” ...

Something to do with rules of succession in the DOJ. Trump needed to wait until he could put his guy in in order to make sure that charges would A) be brought and B) stick. I think that whatever deadline needed to pass happened last week. So I’m expecting some arrests and also a frenzy of nonsense from the media. Maybe this article is the beginning of that.

One can hope!

.

McCabe, the Felon?

He was referred for Criminal charges, but the DOJ refuses to act, and will continue to block as they did for Lois Lerner.

Another problem with Toothless and Impotent IG.

.

I just found a Memo I wrote last year.

It says, Sessions and Rosenstein are dirty. There can only be one reason for their cover up. Corruption.

“F.B.I. Official Wrote Secret Memo Fearing Trump Got a Cover Story for Comey Firing”

gosh, the very same official referred for criminal prosecution by DoJ independent IG Horowitz! I wonder if NT Slimes bothered to mention that little factoid?

A, I don’t believe a word of it, but B, if true, Rosenstein is a witness and must be recused from supervising the Mueller witch hunt.

The longer Trump waits to charge “someone”, the more allegations against him. Why is he waiting?

It’s quite remarkable how clean the Trump operation has proved to be.

Consider: With a FISA warrant reportedly being extremely intrusive and giving two-hop access, and together with undoubted illegal access of the NSA database, the Hillary/Obama team had access to EVERYTHING about the Trump campaign, all emails and texts and phone calls and memos and meetings and schedules.

And then afterward, a team of Democrat lawyers under Mueller took receipt of all the Trump transition communications and undoubtedly numerous other communication databases.

Teams of Democrats scoured everything about everything in the Trump campaign and afterward.

And they came up with nothing new, other than crimes for lying to investigators, such as Flynn and Papadopoulos, crimes generated by the investigation itself.

Imagine if a team of Trump-supporting lawyers had access to absolutely everything about the Clintons and their foundation and Obama and OFA, and so on.

The crimes to be found would be uncountable.
