You should use the original headline of the article. It is not about MS-13, which has its original roots in LA. Salvadorans, Hondurans, and Guatemalans make up the majority of members.
MS-13 was founded by former El Salvadoran Special Operators, who could not find work after leaving the military. They hired themselves out as mercs to the highest bidder.
I was reminded by a FReeper a while ago to not be harsh to California as a number of good people from FR are behind enemy lines there (and FR itself is located there, of course). I have tried since then to be kinder and gentler. I agreed since I live in a People’s Republic myself and the total b.s. by the government here isn’t my fault.
