I find it hard to believe this “The district reports that more than half of their student population relies on that food because parents might have a hard time affording their next meal.” Since Austin wants to be a sanctuary city I’ll be they are talking about feeding the illegal alien dependents here.

It is incredibly sad, but the fact is, may parents simply don’t give a damn about their kids.
We have to stop PAYING people to feed, breed and vote Democrat and things like this won’t happen.

Public schools are under enormous financial pressure from the gov’t to increase the number of kids on free and reduced meals. Every family gets an application and are encouraged to apply, even if they think they won’t qualify. Prizes are given to kids who return applications. Why? The more families that are eligible, the more money the district gets from fedgov. And no, the free school lunches and breakfasts are not deducted from Food Stamps/SNAP.
