Johnny Manziel sees first CFL action in Ticats exhibition loss to the Argos

Johnny Manziel completed 9-of-12 passes in his first appearance with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats but it was the Toronto Argonauts who cruised to the easy 36-18 victory at Tim Hortons Field in the exhibition opener for both teams.

Manziel, 25, certainly didn’t look out of place but faced a Toronto defence minus most of its starters and Hamilton was very conservative in its play-calling. The six-foot, 210-pound Texan, who signed with the Ticats two weeks ago, directed five drives (22 plays) and was especially effective throwing on the run.

Mixed result, but at least Canadian sports journos know how to describe the action on the field. An American article would have been replete with quotes from his therapist.

Watched part of it. Manziel looked okay, but seemed rushed on most plays. Not the best pass blocking ever.

Lousy blocking but Manziel was the only Hamilton qb without a pick.

Had some scrambles and completions that looked like the old days.

The Hamilton starter qb Masoli played miserable enough that he could lose his job.

Masoli did go to Ole Miss, the same school as Trent Lott and Shepard Smith.

I clicked on this because I read the headline which looked like a jumble of random words.

What's on the page still reads like something from google translate.

Sports writing is its' own language.
