I know how you feel. My wife headed for greener pastures five and a half years ago. It left a void in my life that I’m still struggling to deal with.
My problem (among others) is that I do not hate my (2) ex-wives. I hope that they are happy and living a good enjoyable life. It wouldn’t make me happier if they weren’t, and I like it when others are happy.
Nothing replaces the value they were to me. Yes I know. It seems like I should be angry with them. I just don’t live my life that way. It’s okay if they think I’m the great Satan. I swore to care about them, and I meant what I swore to.
When it comes to friends and wives, they’re people I won’t betray in this lifetime. If they decide I’m a bad guy, I don’t reciprocate. If they want to think that, it’s fine with me.
No, a wife is a very important part of your life. Nothing is the same once they are gone. You’ll be stuck re-evaluating your self worth for the rest of your life. There will be decent days and days when you feel like dog-meat.
Of course losing someone to a health issue is terrible too. That companion that was there, will no longer be.
I hope you folks live on for many more years, best of companions. That is so cool > IMO.
