The Trump transition team may demand an investigation after tens of thousands of emails were handed to the Mueller probe without consent or warrants Late last year, news broke that a federal agency turned over tens of thousands of private emails of Trump transition team officials to the special counsels teamwithout a warrant, and without getting the officials permission.
Now, according to communications reviewed by The Daily Beast, the transition team is fighting back. They are threatening to call for an inspector generals investigation of the General Services Administration (GSA), which gave the emails to Mueller, and to potentially try to have officials there sanctioned by the D.C. Bar.
The transition team also charges that the GSA is trying to cover up the involvement of controversial FBI agent Peter Strzok in the allegedly illegal seizure of their emails. A lawyer for the transition team wrote that Strzok played a larger-than-previously known role in unlawfully seizing our clients records.

They might need to stop threatening and start surprising.
Yes, please start fighting for real, before this jack booted thug railroads the best President we’ve had in decades.
You need an AG of the DoJ for that!
Sessions (the ‘insurance’ of PageStrzok emails)most likely had his own NSA records waived under his nose and was told to capitulate.
Deep State Rosenstein is the de facto AG
That'll teach 'em.
We need a 2nd special counsel.
I am so sick of all these rotten shenanigans. I’m surprised Mueller hasn’t raided Trump Tower yet! Why isn’t anyone doing anything?!
The cancer has spread to another government agency.
“the GSAs then-General Counsel Richard Beckler assured the transition team that it was merely housing the materials, and that any communications would be locked securely away from prying eyes.”
Wikipedia: Richard Beckler
Richard W. Beckler (30 March 1940 25 September 2017) was an attorney. He served a number of prominent clients. At the time of his death in late September, 2017, he had been appointed as General Counsel of the US General Services Administration.
After his death, Beckler’s actions at the GSA were discussed in the US national media when it was revealed that the GSA had supplied the special counsel investigation by Robert Mueller with copies of more than 5000 emails sent by the Trump administration transition team. GSA Deputy Counsel Lenny Loewentritt, stated that Beckler had not made a commitment to the transition team that law enforcement materials requests would be routed through transition lawyers. Reuters reported statements that “The FBI had requested the materials from GSA staff on Aug. 23, asking for copies of the emails, laptops, cell phones and other materials associated with nine members of the Trump transition team responsible for national security and policy matters”...
Beckler spent 37 years in white collar criminal defense for the firms Fulbright & Jaworski, Howrey LLP, and Bracewell & Giuliani mostly representing corporations such as Halliburton. Beckler also represented many individuals, including CIA Director William J. Casey. Beckler had also represented Iran-Contra figure John Poindexter. Before coming to the GSA, Beckler was a partner and head of litigation in Washington, D.C., for the international law firm Bracewell LLP...
There is a reason that Trump has not gotten the answers and declassified and unreacted everything. The only excuse I have is because all of this non-stop dripping drama serves his purposes.
Why in the world would he keep Sessions if he is totally asleep? Is he just waiting until the mid-terms? Trump does not tolerate fools. We know this to be true, but his tweets and public shaming have been increasingly brutal lately.
I can’t figure it out.
Investigation by the Inspector General?
The bureaucrats are trembling with fear!
I’m similarly perplexed. Perhaps it’s the appointing process and the timing that keeps Session in place.
But then Donald Trump pardons everybody.
He might well HAVE some kind of intuition that this game needs to be played out over an appropriate time frame. He’s managed to get lefties to get very rabid in the public eye by dragging it out, and the general public is getting more and more jaded about this. All that sizzle and not an ounce of steak.
Mueller and his team are rogue dogs who belong in prison.
“The only excuse I have is because all of this non-stop dripping drama serves his purposes.”
Exactly. People seem to forget that Trump knew where most of the bodies were buried before he even ran for President. He now, of course, has the power to spill it to the public at the time of his choosing.
Watch Trump, with beautiful Melania at his side, de-nut Sessions in the cabinet briefing yesterday =>
Don’t know anything about Beckler but he must have been a Trump hater because he defended others the Democrats wanted very badly (Poindexter and Casey).
What a POS.
A) The Enemedia would crucify him far worse than for anything before.
B) The RINOs would use it as pretext to openly oppose him on everything - and act self righteous about it.
C) The Senate would refuse to confirm a new AG - and anyone else, including judges.
I do not believe in 3D Chess; it violates Occam’s Razor in too many ways.
For one thing, I am to believe these two contradictory things simultaneously:
A) Jeff Sessions is a supremely honorable man who lives to meticulously uphold the rule of law.
B) Jeff Sessions has violated the rule of law by allowing the Constitutional rights of American citizens to be trampled by an illicit special counsel and acting attorney general, both of whom have more and worse conflicts of interest than he ever had.
The Sessions Sycophants - sundance and crowd - blithely insist they can have their cake and eat it too... all the while bragging about the Silent Assassin.
If Sessions really is playing a secret game, then he is breaking the law to enforce the law. That means We The People lose.
As things are, Trump enjoys the sympathies of the electorate who are not fully onto Establishment RINOs and how much they want him gone. If he does something that is portrayed as Obstruction by them, he will lose the casual conservatives who fall for the superficial narratives.
The dripping is a side effect of not declassifying material that might compromise secret sources. Now we found out one of the secret sources was Halper who was a paid informant. Pretty soon we'll find out more about Mifsud, another source kept secret in the Papadop indictment. It's possible Mifsud was really a Russian agent. Or it's possible Mifsud was a British agent. Or Mifsud was just a nothing and Papadop was presssured to plead guilty with a big stick, and let's not forget the carrot (Italian wife).
In any case for all the griping, it didn't matter in the least to MAGA whether we found out about Halper sooner, and doesn't really matter when we find out about Mifsud. Although I would think it would be a good October surprise for either Trump or the deep state. Always remember the deep state can make up new stuff, but they can't do as much new stuff with the old stuff still outstanding particularly if the old stuff is deep state misdeeds.
