German Chancellor Angela Merkel said on Wednesday she expected “contentious discussions” at a G7 summit this week, given differences with US President Donald Trump on trade, climate and security.

Speaking two days before the Canada meeting of the club of major industrialized democracies, Merkel also said the leaders may not necessarily manage to agree on a final joint statement.

“I think everyone knows there will be difficult discussions there, because G7 summits deal with the global economy, trade, climate protection, development—and foreign policy,” she told German parliament. […]

Merkel vowed to enter the talks “in good faith”, but stressed that there must be “no compromise for its own sake” and that a final statement by the host Canada, rather than a joint communiqué, “may be the more honest way”. …

Just offer reciprocal, more free trade. You’ll get along with Trump just fine.

I wish Melania were accompanying him but she is still recovering from surgery. :( she’d be such a support.

Praying. God give strength.

Like anyone gives a rat's ass about their "statement". Trump farts on your statement, Frau Fuhrer.

Just tell her “ficken zie! Angela!” Germany today, is a waste of time as a country. Trump needs to ask her “just where are you going to sell your cars when we put huge tariffs on each and every one of them!” He might also tell her that the American military stationed currently in Germany is going to be moving to Poland where America’s friends are. Lastly, he should tell Angela that unless Germany pays it’s entire NATO contribution, that NATO won’t defend her country. For all of my life, America has paid the world’s bills. The American Taxpayer has been forced by his government, be it RAT or RINO to be the “world’s sugar daddy!” Long past time that was brought to an end.

The President’s opening gambit should be:

Angela, we can do this the easy way or we can do this the hard way...Your choice.

Of course, Merkel, we, the U.S., do not want to mess up the long-standing status quo and circle -jerking that has been going on......

Angela Merkel said on Wednesday she expected “contentious discussions” at a G7 summit this week>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

PDJT will lay the wood to the Canadian, and Euroweenie socialists. And so he should, These governments are now pretty much dictating to businesses now, that its pretty much tantamount to nationalization like the commies did in Venezuela.

Canada and The EU regularly subsidize their various industries so as to make businesses “competitive” on the US market which is effectively dumping and contrary to NAFTA.

Trudeau last week had the Alberta - British Columbia Pipe Line project, $7.4-billion Kinder Morgan Trans Mountain pipeline expansion , taken over by the Canada’s federal government, effectively unseating Kinder Morgan management
for political reasons. And that dancing idiot Justin Trudeau wants a NAFTA deal with the USA?

I hope PDJT takes all these G7 socialist interfering blivets to the wood shed......IN PUBLIC.

Free trade has to be fair trade, and if not, the size of the US economy requires them to come to PDJT for individual trade agreements, and then these socialist , anti capitalist whore politicians can explain to PDJT why they are effectively taking over private business management and private investment, defacto nationalization of business.

Contention is pretty much a given. A G-7 meeting in the middle of a trade war was probably not the best idea.
