Soros push to elect progressive DAs in California fails to attract voters

New York billionaire George Soros’ multimillion-dollar effort to reshape California's criminal justice system by propping up progressive district attorney candidates backfired Tuesday, with most of his candidates suffering major defeats.

Soros, together with other wealthy liberal donors and groups, spent millions on would-be prosecutors who favor lower incarceration rates, crackdowns on police misconduct and changes in a bail system that they argue discriminates against the poor.

But most of the money went to waste as their candidates lost to more traditional law-and-order prosecutors who didn’t share progressive views or have hostile attitudes toward police.

It would be fantastic if more and more people in CA wake up to reality and start rejecting more of the idiot liberal mandates.

We have to get the money out of politics, except for Soros’ money.

He needs to spend more money next time. Influence on that scale requires some serious coin.

Can we all stop looking at this mouth breathing pervert as a threat? I know he elected a lot of Democrats in 2010 a lot more in 2014 and of course he put Hillary in the White House but there is a limit to his power.

Lower incarceration rates, crackdowns on police, not criminals, and free get out of jail for “minorities”. If they had it their way, the only crime in California would be not being a liberal.

100% - just like Mexico - correct your own state issues and stop emigrating from Californication and bringing your liberal voting habits over here to AZ (and TX).

Dismiss this evil prick at your peril. He has done a lot of damage on down ballots is a major money man for the “resistance” crap. We need a G. Gordon Liddy type to take him off the board.

Dare I hope that the pendulum is starting to swing back away from communism in my beloved and dearly missed California? I moved away three years ago, but California will always be my home of my heart. So I’ll take any good news coming from there with hope that it signals the long overdue turn around.

Soros-backed candidates lost to more traditional law-and-order prosecutors who didn’t share progressive views or have hostile attitudes toward police......obsessed progressives who favor lower incarceration rates, crackdowns on police misconduct and changes in a bail system that they argue discriminates against the poor.

The problem here...is if Soros candidate did win...is that they’d try certain cases with zero enthusiasm, and certain cases with maximum enthusiasm. Both would attract attention and within five years...create a wave of negativity with the general public to fire the DAs. All this would do is plant a major shift in politics in the next decade and trigger a backlash against the state authority.

It is Central America where the big problem lies. We are housing thousands of children crossing the border from Honduras and Guatemala.

Stuff it up your wazoo Soros. You tried to corrupt the vote on Secretaries of State and failed. Now, DAs. Same result.

What’s that old saying? The difference between genius and stupidity is that genius has its limits.
