Asking President to Pardon Soldiers
Self | June 8, 2018 | Self

Posted on 06/08/2018 10:15:05 AM PDT by captain_dave

I sent the following to the President via WhiteHouse.Gov/Contact/

---------------------

Dear Mr. President,

I support Senator Cornyn and add my voice in asking for a pardon for General David Patraeus.

I also ask that you review the sentences of the several soldiers who've been convicted of various offenses during this difficult war in Iraq and Afganistan. I believe some have been harshly and wrongly punished for actions which were necessary or unavoidable. Many have complained that the rules of engagement they were forced to fight under endangered them and their men, and also emboldened the enemy.

Is it right to expect more from our soldiers today than from those who fought in World War 2? Our soldiers have fought a much longer, and more difficult and mentally strenuous war.

I urge you, Mr. President, to right wrongs and restore the broken lives of our brave soldiers.

Most Respectfully,

So was petraues’ giving classified information to his mistress”unavoidable and necessary”?

I have no sympathy for petraues. He got off light.

I still think it was entrapment

Entrapment is when the government puts the idea to commit crime into the mind of the defendant. No one but petraues put the idea to give his girlfriend classified information but himself. Unless you are suggesting that the girlfriend was a secret govt agent sent to trap petraues into violating the law, a theory with absolutely no evidence whatsoever.

Petreaus is globalist scum. He is not loyal to this country. He is loyal to his fantasy of a North American Union.

And besides that... he got off lightly.

As I understand it, he had a SCIF in his house. Normal for his position. SCIF clearance recindeded, the raid him and find his classified notebook. Girlfriend had a clearance. He would have been the one to decide “right to know”, most likely.

Soldiers who are deserving, yes. Petraeus, no. Everyone knows why.

Nope nope and nope. He took classified information out of the CIA, unprotected,, stored it in a unsecure drawer at home, divulged top secet compartmentalized classified info to his girlfriend who had neither a need to know nor clearance to know, then lied to federal agents about all of it.

My advice to Trump - don’t take advice from Cornyn. Kim Kardashian has better advice!

IIRC the "classified data" he took out was his own schedule not a NOC list.

Yes, it is technically classified.

Apparently it had the highest classification, top secret compartmentalized.

It really doesnt matter what it is, it is the classification that counts.

He had no right to divulge it to an unauthorized person, right?

He didn't divulge it. Once again I am going on memory but I believe what they came after him for was just having it.

BTW since she was his authorize security cleared biographer she did have clearance.

It’s Need to Know. And he doesn’t get to make that call. He should have done jail time just like junior troops do. No pardon. He knew better, yet did it anyway.

Read the entire story. Wilipedia gives a good summary.

Yes he did divulge it to the girfriend. And no, she was not cleared to receive compartmentalized classified information.

For example, my Secret clearance does not allow me access for information I do not have a need to know or classifications above the access level. The need to know requirement applies in all classified documents cases. Unless you need to know you have no right to the information regardless of your security clearance.

I agree with your conclusion. But the girl DID have clearance for the material. He stupidly brought home briefing books.

He was, however, one big target for the underhanded stuff. He showed some bad judgement.

Personally, my opinion, a more honorable endeavor still is to have Lt. Col. Terry Lakin reinstated with a presidential apology on the behalf of his predecessors.

How about Border Patrol’s Ramos and Campion? They got a raw deal.

No one is preventing you from writing to President Trump. Ask him to review their case.
