Florida Lawmaker Seeks To Create Nationwide Gun Registry

U.S. Sen. Bill Nelson introduced legislation this week that would create a national gun registry.

Known as the “Crime Gun Tracing Modernization Act,” the bill would require ATF to set up a “searchable, computerized database” of all records pertaining to the sale, importation, production or shipment of firearms. The agency would be given three years to get the system up and running.

“The fact that there is a law on the books that forces agents to comb through millions of files by hand is absolutely ridiculous,” said Nelson, a Florida Democrat.

Not true. We moved from there in 2011 so there may be an end in sight. ;-) Oh, you said “assclowns”.

We all know how banning alcohol and the war on drugs worked right? Criminals will get their weapons, they will adapt with time. Take a look at London exceeding NYC for murders recently for more information.

Good luck with that one. I doubt if one-percent of gun owners would comply. I would add that you would have to convince the public to accept some form of national ID card, to make this even marginally work. But maybe you could attach this to the same national ID database for voter registration. (spoken sarcastically of course)

We need a criminal illegal alien registry.

Let Pelosi vouch for the MS-13 members.

I sure as hell wouldn’t comply. And I’m old enough my attitude is I’m going to die free man one way or the other. Molon labe.

How many of those bastards come with me is going to be their decision. I will take long as many as would like to come.

Ben just tee’d up one for Scott.
Lets see if Scott is wise enough to kick it through the goal post.

Jeb would have said....”This suggestion needs some serious consideration”

Maybe he ought to speak with police in New Zealand and get their honest opinion about that (as upon their recommendation, the one for rifles and shotguns was scrapped in 1984 due to so many errors riddling the system and that it had served no tangible benefit even though it had existed since the 1920s). Bet he’d hear some very interesting comments.

Maybe the Senator ought to also educate himself about what happened with gun registration in the Australian states of Victoria and South Australia in the 1980s and ‘90s (before Port Arthur). Or that handguns have required registration in Canada since 1934 and that does not stop criminals from getting them (mainly through the native reserves in Ontario and Quebec) nor has it helped police prevent or solve a handgun related crime.

Hey dumbass Nelson: Why? What would such a database have done to prevent Parkland. NOTHING!! You just want to grab guns like EVERY DEMOCRAT!! The fact is the Parkland shooter was ON THE DEMOCRAT SHERIFF RADAR AND WAS STILL NOT PREVENTED FROM KILLING THOSE KIDS!! Get rid of the Democrat programs that allow problem kids to remain in the system and you'll solve your problem.

I understand that after 30 days sales of guns to individuals are expunged.

According to FL statute— the FDLE conducts the background check, and the statute says “if available” for the federal background check. It’s part of the law. If the NCIS wasn’t available state law does not require it, because FDLE has access on it’s own. See how that works? No harm.

This was put out by some yabo in Tampa who likes... any number of whacked demos, including he fossilized Nelson who is a SNAKE.

Guess he thinks Parkland students will reelect him this way? He knows this won't pass, this is pure P.R.

Problem is, Rick Scott showed himself to be a gun-grabber too, so what can he say about it?

Okay, how about a trial? All Florida elected officials register their guns, then offer full search, let’s see how many actually comply.

> I sure as hell wouldn’t comply.

Irrelevant. Sec 2, part 3 of the bill allows FFL holders to transfer their records over to the registry..,
