I don’t believe I’ve ever seen someone run for office and try to do exactly what they said they would do. I find it pretty unbelievable.
Trump has been saying the same thing on trade for thirty years: given this and his persona, how did anyone think he would change his mind simply because the carnival of whores in DC and the media told him he had to?
Everyone else was trying to “manage the decline” of the United States. Trump does not share that mindset.
We are still in decline, but if we are to go down, at least we go down on our feet with this guy.
