Ban the clicking cameras at important events!
self | 6/11/2018 | self

Watching the events on TV, important ones involving dignitaries posing for cameras and dimwits journalists, gets really annoying. Cameras are clicking away, like machine guns, obscuring important words from presidents, kings, queens.

Esteemed photojournalists: today we have mirrorless super cameras and phone cameras that do not click - "shoot" - make stupid annoying clicky noise. They are SILENT, no need to make a racket.

Please disable the clicking or get camera that doesn't click when you "fire". Modern cameras are silent when taking photo or video!!!

This should be the rule and idiot clickers should be banned for life from taking clickapictures at events where sound is involved.

Sheeesh!

Glad I’m not the only one annoyed by this stupidity!

My new Sony A7 iii has a silent shutter option. And 10 frames per second too!!

Boycott Nikon/Canon!

They are professional photographers, and they use real cameras, not those crappy minicomputers. It goes with the territory.

Meanwhile, I’d like to ban everyone from using their damn minicomputers to obsessively and obtrusively record/photograph every stupid thing they think is worthy, from real sports history (witness the Triple Crown the other year, when a bunch of hands are up clicking, rather than watching it with their own eyes), to kiddie graduations.

I was thinking the same thing when I watched it earlier. You couldn’t hear a damn thing over the constant clicks.

Back when my late Father was a news photographer in the 1940s and ‘50s, the was no clicking, just “snap” and the flash gun going off on his large format Speed Graphic. Then came 35mm cameras.

I miss flash bulbs.

Nothing like a pop of a flash bulb to drown out the camera click.

Then we had flash cubes for a quick 4 shot.

“Professinals huh,,, begone you little people with your pesty little iphone and Sony Alphas,,, We have REAL cameras,,, LOL

Hate to tell, but the camera does not make you a pro, and there are some folks taking some outstanding photos, videos with their little computers.

I will have to agree with the folks you on folks who stick cameras etc up in the air in the way,, but please don’t trash us “prosumers” and hobby photographers because we dont buy 5 and 10 thousand dollar cameras

I remember all the flashbulbs going off at historic events in the sixties.

Same as it ever was.

you may be thinking too hi tech for the NoKo's. I'm leaning to something from the 1950's

What on earth do you think professional cameras do when they are taking photos?

I’m in the burn ward right now due to these over exuberant photographers lighting off my flash powder with their dang cigarettes.

You miss being at the event when you are recording it. You also tend to forget it unless you look at the photos.

Who was the guy who said “Be Here Now”? Looked it up: Ram Dass. He happened to be right about that.

You completely miss the point.

Career professionals are the people who are at that political event, part of the press, and they’re going to use the best cameras they can.

Solved! Now on to the next world crisis!

It’s a good life when clicking cameras is your problem. You are indeed blessed.
