Republican businessman John Cox, who stunned the political world last week by placing second in the California primary and securing a spot on the November ballot, said Monday that President Donald Trump will campaign for him in California. The Los Angeles Times reports:
Republican gubernatorial candidate John Cox said Monday that President Trump would travel to California to campaign for him in his bid to defeat Democrat Gavin Newsom in the November general election.
“Gavin Newsom is going to make this race all about President Trump. Well, you know what, I welcome it,” Cox told GOP supporters at a hotel in San Diego. “President Trump is going to come here and campaign for me and for you!”
“We’ve been talking to the White House and they’ve expressed interest in coming out,” Cox spokesman Matt Shupe said. “There’s no set date.”
Though Newsom would welcome Trump’s presence as a boost to his already-wide lead in the gubernatorial race, the president also might boost Republican turnout for candidates in contested congressional districts.

President Trump is going to have a busy fall. He needs to get to Missouri, Indiana, West Virginia and Montana for starters. Our candidates need a boost.
His pilots must be exhausted!

President Trump can come to CA and campaign for the Republicans in Orange County. Cox can join them there.

If Trump can boost R voting by even 5% it makes it much harder for the D's to cheat, or increases the likelihood that we can catch them.

I agree. There is a real outside chance that Cox could get it. The sanctuary state and the big gas tax are winning issues for Cox.
There are states where Trump campaigning for you is of significant benefit to a candidate. California is not one of them.
A better use of Trump’s time is to get Sessions off his backside and start making arrests.
Trump showing up in CA will not really help.

His rally in Anaheim was AMAZING. And since this is to save a state many of us HAVE TO BE PLANNING TO LEAVE if Newsom wins, many liberals and apoliticals may be motivate to vote against Newsom. There is a chance, there is a real chance, even if it’s small.

President Trump can land at the Los Alamitos Joint Forces Training Base, take Marine 1 to John Wayne Airport, then take the Beast to one of the amphitheaters in Irvine or Costa Mesa.

I’d love to see a California upset, but I might be dreaming on that...

If we were to pull off a Cox upset the California bashers would find a way to negatively spin it.
