The American Medical Association has formally and overwhelmingly endorsed a slate of gun control measures, calling gun violence a public health crisis.
Why it matters: The AMA isnt as powerful as it once was. But in the uphill climb to frame gun violence as a public health issue, having the AMA on board certainly cant hurt.

The NRA should call for a halving of doctor pay.
Car control is next followed by Dr. Control and Smart Phone control.
What is the position of the AMA on high risk homosexual sex practices?
Doctors in America kill more people every year than guns.
Didn’t I read somewhere that “botched” medical procedures kill more people than guns, every year?
Tell'em to clean up their own act first. "Medical misadventure" (i.e. errors by doctors and nurses) kills more people than ALL gun deaths.
Very few working private physicians pay AMA dues and remain members. The AMA now consists of government, corporate, pharmaceutical industry, foundations employed and university physicians. They are all salaried, their dues are paid by their employers and tow the politically correct line. The AMA does not represent the physicians who actually care for patients.
It would be easy for real Americans to make doctors pay for further politicizing medicine in America, and I already do it. When a doctor asks me or my children whether we have guns in the home, we all answer, “of course not”. I’m in the People’s Republic of Maryland, so there are not a lot of pro-gun doctors.
Then I post negative reviews of that doctor on every online rating forum I can find. The reviews are truthful, just not at all helpful to the gun grabbing physician. Out of five stars, the best a gun grabber can get is two stars, and my comments are about their long wait times, their lack of focus on medical issues, and their failure to listen to why we were there. It’s all true. I never go in asking a doctor whether I’m storing my firearms safely, so they shouldn’t be going off on that tangent. Wait times would be shorter and care would be cheaper if they didn’t waste time on their political agenda.
Note: I don’t mention guns in my review. In this state, that would weaken the intended effect, which is to make doctors who allow politics to intrude on medical care pay a price.
New doctor asked me if I had any guns in my house.
I asked him, “How much do you pay to protect you from malpractice suits?”
“My protection of life and family and property costs a fraction of whatever that might be.”
Got up and left his office.
Searching for new doctor now.
Can we do something to make the Constitution haters in the AMA pay for this idiocy?
Dont give Drs who support this your business. Several years ago one of my daughters needed a physical in order to play rec league soccer. So, took her to the clinic where many other parents were using. So, I sat in waiting room while my daughter had her checkup. All was good with my daughter, paid and we left. On the way home my daughter said Daddy, the doctor asked if you have guns in our house. I asked, What did you say? I told her yes. Needless to say I never went back to that clinic.
NO

Let’s not hate on the docs. After all it’s not their field of expertise
Saw this little thing at the top the other day from an acquaintance of Mrs. rktman’s who is a lefty. The picture accompanying it showed this person flipping the bird and suggesting a rally locally to oppose jeff sessions with a pic of all kinds of nasty signs. We have gotten to the point of simply laughing at these assclowns since they’re turned themselves in to one giant/YUGE joke any more. They don’t see, or refuse to see, the stupidity of their actions.
They endorsed Obamacare, too....
Yep, AMA is another proggie domestic enemy group. And blatant hypocrites.
Amen. Turn this around on them. What a bunch of savages. Anyone silly enough to attempt to repeat terrible history should be locked up for their own good.
Good move.
AMA is an extremist liberal group. Sort of like AARP.
It’s astounding how and what makes grown men do anything they are told to do by the wrong side. They have no spine...and they misread the public out here. Drs are supposed to ask if patient owns a gun.. and now they are going to ask the kid in school.
This country needs decision making strong men who stand for what is right... who know the constitution... and know that a gun is not the problem... s
feminists did a work on the male species... men who used to think with their math brain and make sense... have turned into wimps...feministic wimps.
The AMA. That’s a blast from the past. They used to tell people what to think about health and medical practices.
After twenty years of the internet, people can look up their own information. uh-oh. Just like that, they’re irrelevant.
What about the Good Housekeeping Seal of Approval??
What do they say??
