Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is making it clear: He wants Kentucky Gov. Matt Bevin, a potential re-election rival, to stay home.
Bevin, a Republican, has yet to say whether he will seek a second term in 2019, prompting speculation he's interested in unseating McConnell in 2020 — or that he's hoping for a Trump administration gig.
McConnell made it plain in an interview with the Lexington Herald-Leader that he'd prefer Bevin run for another four year term as governor.
"I hope he runs for re-election and finishes the job by serving the full eight years that are allowed under the Kentucky Constitution," said McConnell, patriarch of the Kentucky Republican Party.

When it comes to running against a strong conservative like Bevin McConnell is no shy retiring type. In the primary against Bevin he ran such a vile lying campaign that it would make a Clintonista blush.
The Turdle is afraid of Bevin.
Screw McConnell.
Matt Begins should stay as Governor. I think the turtle will be doing a John McCain soon, so Matt can put a new Senator .
And McConnell has Chicom money to help him. The Chicoms need him right where he is. I still think Trump is just keeping his enemies closer.

He wins by lying, sucking up, and bushwhacking, just (as you say) like a Clinton or Pelosi.
And yet we hear (I did just yesterday, on his ascension as Senate Leader with the most longevity) of how astute he is, how wise, how often so right.
This is why our country is in the disastrous shape it is.
For the record, I voted for Bevin.
I love Bevin as governor and want him to stay here. He is our Trump, but far more articulate. He’s making huge progress in all the right areas.
The only thing I’m challenged with is that he has a 60’s conservative attitude regarding anything related to Marijuana. He even fights against legalization of medical marijuana.

I hope Bevin runs for governor again and I voted for him against McWeasal in the senate race. That being said, his war with the teachers over their pensions devolved into a name calling mud fest. He had them looking like fools with their behavior and then got down into the mud with them and name calling, a mistake I think.
Then the idiot Republicans in the legislature took a beating for their putrid attempt to reform the teachers pension fund. They wasted a ton of political capital for a fart in a whirlwind of a bill and it didn’t faze the pension fund but kicked it down the road one last time.
I hope I am wrong but I suspect that lightening bug brain Allison Grimes will run for governor and win and she will legalize weed in KY and one of the legislatures chambers will flip to the D’s. When that disaster runs its course a McWeasal lackey will be elected governor.
