There are a lot of terms misused today. If “liberals” really were liberal we’d have far fewer problems. They are illiberal and represent the devil, as you said.

This is the reason for the sudden emergence of "fact checking" as a tool in political discourse. It's a shortcut to simply calling the opponent a liar with all the force of assumed authority behind you. You simply declare "false" and do a little victory dance, and there's a lot of that dancing going on at the offices of the NY Times, CNN, and Newsweek. Who will fact-check the fact-checkers?
I shudder to think what this country would be like in the absence of the Internet and associated alternate media - Orwell's boot stamping the face of a human being forever, and the wearer would be Hillary.
