I called the Mark Levin show. The call screener politely said, "What's on your mind?
I was upset that Mark was calling the tickets to sporting events and shows "gifts" which were given to the leakers. IMHO, they were bribes.
The screener said that unless Sessions or Trump enables a special prosecutor, and there is an indictment and conviction, there is no crime, so it is a gift.
Then I presented my theory that Trump is the classic good cop, and Sessions is giving him cover for doing nothing by being the bad cop. We are being played.
The screener politely said that we cannot deal in unprovable theories. He said "we know these people, and they are good Americans and want to do what is right". Then he hung up.
That’s peculiar! Levin is on tv now screaming about all of this. He needs a new screener.
I cannot bear to watch Hannity, because I know he is going to uncover rampant lawlessness, and again nothing will come of it.
Why?
Usually a bad cop is BAD.
He doesn’t poke the suspect with the corner of a fluffy pillow.
A bad cop also WORKS.
Don’t you think “looking the other way” is a trait of a bad cop?

Isn’t Trump Session’s boss? Why isn’t he insisting that he do his job?
Good Cop - Bad Cop is when one the (bad) cop offers significant punishment and pain, and the (good) cop offers to help the perp if he will just co-operate with the (good) cop.
Trump certainly isn’t offering significant pain, yet. I see no evidence that Sessions is either.
Maybe you should have had a better argument. As stated here, it makes no sense.
I applaud you for trying. You certainly got farther than I would. Let’s give it a few days to let the dust settle and go from there. God bless!
Ok, maybe the analogy is not perfect, but why doesn’t Trump replace Sessions with someone able and willing to uphold the law on the ruling elites.
Here’s why:
1) It would create chaos and lead to a bloodless civil war on the deep state to prosecute those guilty of crimes among the ruling class
2) It is much easier to let the truth filter out, and eventually the public and the media will move on to other topics

Pssssssssssssssst....a good cop uses "the carrot" ( something "good" and is soothing ) and the bad cop "uses the stick" ( threats and worse ), which is NOT what old RECUSED from everything, Mr. Magoo is doing.
I think maybe you’re saying this:
The fact that Sessions is so NICE to the enemy (despite the apparent requirement by his office for him to not do so) seems to require Trump to be extra BAD to them instead, and he does that in the form of tweets, being short with the media, ect.

The bad cop comes in attacking the person being interrogated and accuses them of committing the crime. After hours of him, the good cop comes in and tells the person being interrogated that he believes he is a good person and that this probably happened by accident or self defense. Once the person being interrogated admits that it was an accident or self defense they are arrested for the crime.
The good cop gets them to admit they were there when the criminal action took place.
Do you not understand that Wray gave a whitewash of the FBI?
Agents were corrupt and were taking bribes, which are called “gifts”?
Investigation being called a “matter”? Where have we seen this before?
