In a surprise, but lawful move, Lake County Circuit Court blocked an unconstitutional ban on alleged "assault weapons" and high capacity magazines with a temporary injunction in the small town of Deerfield, Illinois just hours before the ban was to go into effect.
The 19th Judicial Circuit Court in Lake County, Illinois rendered the decision on Tuesday after gun owner rights activists sued the city after a ban that was unanimously passed by all six of the town's board members on April 2.
Vice News reports:
Gun groups, including the National Rifle Association of Illinois, requested a temporary restraining order against the ban while the lawsuit proceeded.
Had the ban gone into effect, anyone found in possession of an assault weapon after Wednesday, July 13, would have faced a fine of up to $1,000 per day.

It is doubtful that a small burg would push this past initial appeal. They thought they could steal citizens’ rights with no cost. I believe the cost should be born by these tinpot dictators personally.

AS I’ve said I do not want this SC to get another crack at the 2nd. the last one was 5-4 and the Kennedy was very wobbly. We need another Kennedy to retire but I get the feeling he does not want Trump replacing him. It’s a problem.
Kagan is in very poor health and Ginsberg is so old she sleeps through most hearings. Breyer is also unlikely to make it through Trump’s second term. Thomas has hinted that he doesn’t want to die in his seat and Kennedy has also hinted at retirement. So it’s possible that Trump could replace 5 more SC justices who will follow the Constitution.

These little shit eating duckberg suburbs of Chicago have a long track record of this kind of crap. In ‘81 or ‘82 Morton Grove passed the nation’s first total ban on handgun possession followed by Oak Park. Chicago passed a ban on new handguns but at least grandfathered existing owners. This was all controlled by registration. A filthy state of affairs until relief in 2013.
