This is How Google will Collapse
Hackernoon ^ | 24 April, 2018 | James Daniel Colin

Google made almost all its money from ads. It was a booming business — until it wasn’t. Here’s how things looked right before the most spectacular crash the technology industry had ever seen.

The crumbling of Google’s cornerstone

Search was Google’s only unambiguous win, as well as its primary source of revenue, so when Amazon rapidly surpassed Google as the top product search destination, Google’s foundations began to falter. As many noted at the time, the online advertising industry experienced a major shift from search to discovery in the mid-2010s.

While Google protected its monopoly on the dying search advertising market, Facebook — Google’s biggest competitor in the online advertising space — got on the right side of the trend and dominated online advertising with its in-feed native display advertising.

Interesting idea on how Google could collapse.

Internet giants are not doing great on actual revenue.

Google will always be an unquestioned leader just like IBM dominates the desktop PC market!

Something that can only hasten Google’s collapse is the full on SJW environment created within Google.

They can’t have more than a small handful of competent coders remaining in their employment pool. And those are probably being hunted down to be sent to HR because “competence is racist” or some such idiocy.

Google won’t die. It will use its immense wealth to buy other companies, which in turn will create more wealth.

How much wealth does Google actually have?

What are it’s financial obligations?

What is it’s cash flow?

Be nice to know.

I know a few who have bailed and yes they are being hunted down. It is not a joke.

The stock is still north of $1150 a share so they haven't fallen yet.

Maybe they could limit viewer loss on YT by not taking such a doctrinaire and ideological view of "community standards". They are driving some of their best content creators to other platforms. In the end YT will be left with only public domain and pirated content.

Facebook will die a similar death. I rarely eve respond to ads on Facebook. Zuckerberg will loose his billions and I’ll just smile.

They've been trying to do that for years. So far the results have been less than impressive.

"Google made almost all its money from ads"

Um no. Google makes it money by selling information about its users who often don't even know they are using their services ...

Recent news reports they will be the first to launch a driverless car / taxi service called Waymo. While other companies like uber and tesla have higher profiles Waymo has quietly obtained the talent, technology and state permits to operate.

I think that may be true! Google’s original search algorithm was a creation of genius, but many of their other projects have been losers.

“They can’t have more than a small handful of competent coders remaining in their employment”

Leftists are parasites. They find a successfull business and infest it, they purge anyone who does not believe their political nonsense, to lock out competition they collude with government to like on regulations that only their company can satisfy, they feast off of the cash flow until the company fails, repeat.
