Because if a gun shows remorse, then it can be forgiven.
As demonstrated by England, when guns are removed from the population, violent crime rises. I am not willing to trade 6,800 daily violent crimes against citizens in order to prevent 93 daily gun deaths, 2/3rds of which are suicides.

So in order to believe the narrative here, you likely still have to believe the narrative concerning Michael Brown, Jr from that while back that was disproven by not one but two formal investigations by the FBI and related authorities concerning Officer Wilson and his actions (that were found to be justified).
