The 5 Worst Illegal Immigration Arguments
PJ Media ^ | 06/19/2018 | John Hawkins

Posted on 06/19/2018 7:52:21 AM PDT by SeekAndFind

1. We’re splitting up children from their parents!

Are you an American citizen? Well, if you commit a serious crime tomorrow, you will be separated from your children. Try taking your kid with you to commit a bank robbery and see how far you get arguing that you should be able to take junior with you to Leavenworth. Speaking of which, what kind of idiots want to put 10-year-olds in detention centers with their parents and any random person we catch on the border? It’s a stupid idea that people push so they can virtue signal. “Oh, I’m such a good person and I really care about the children! That’s why I want little Sally locked up with the nice guy we caught on the border, the one with the nasty disposition and face tattoos.” It’s not as if ICE is roaming through Mexico kidnapping children or anything. All you have to do to avoid being split up from your children is the same thing Americans have to do: Obey the law.

2. We must allow people into America because they’re REFUGEES

“Oh, but these illegals should be allowed into America because of... domestic violence/MS-13/drug cartels/anti-gay attitudes/violence….” Here’s an alternate idea: It’s not our problem. MS-13 or a drug cartel is threatening you in your home country? That sounds like something for the government of YOUR COUNTRY to deal with. Only about 40 percent of the world lives in a democracy and roughly 80 percent of the world lives on less than $10 a day. Start adding in war, crime, backward attitudes and the other sundry problems afflicting much of humanity and the number of people who clearly would be better off here than where they live would extend to what? 3 billion? 4 billion? 5 billion? More? I’m sure there are many people who love virtue signaling so much that they’d love to let all those people come here, but there wouldn’t be anything worth calling America left when they were done.

3. But, but, but, the STATUE OF LIBERTY

The Statue of Liberty says "Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.” That means we have to take unlimited numbers of illegal aliens… or something. It’s hard to understand the logic of this kind of thinking because a statue is not an immigration policy. Nor does it have any bearing on whether we take in legal or illegal immigrants, how many we take in or what conditions we put in place to allow immigration here. The whole idea that we have to take anybody who sneaks into our country instead of setting up a rational policy and following it because of poetic language on a statue is completely insane.

4. We have no right to stop illegal immigrants from coming here since we took this land from the Indians.

Do people who make this ridiculous argument realize that there’s not a square inch of land on the entire planet that wasn’t taken from one group or another at some point in time? Do they realize that the “Indians” were not one happy, homogenous group that had been there since the beginning of time? We don’t know exactly where the Indian tribes came from, but it is generally believed that they migrated to North America from Asia. Did they show up and take land from the people that were already there? Yes, probably and even if they didn’t do that, they certainly violently took land from each other on a regular basis. Americans have no more reason to feel guilty about taking land from the Indians than they did for taking land from each other. That has been the way of the world since the beginning of time and it has absolutely nothing to do with what America’s immigration policy should be.

5. Republicans can allow massive numbers of illegal immigrants and covert them to Republicans.

One of the most bizarre arguments that you hear on a regular basis from amnesty-loving Republicans is that embracing illegal immigration will BENEFIT Republicans. This makes no sense whatsoever given that Reagan (37 percent of the Hispanic vote) already agreed to an amnesty in 1986 and then when George Bush won in a landslide in 1988, he received 30 percent of the Hispanic vote (Trump got 29 percent). Well wait, what about the most pro-amnesty Republican alive, “Amnesty” John McCain? He did great with Hispanic voters, right? No, he only got 32 percent of the Hispanic vote. So, when you start talking about bringing in millions and millions of Hispanic voters (and new Hispanic immigrants lean even more heavily Democrat than ones who have been here for a while), what you’re really doing is massively tilting the electoral battlefield toward the Left. Why do you think Democrats are so rabidly against any type of border security and so adamant that illegals should be rewarded for breaking the law with American citizenship? It’s because they quite correctly looked at states like California, saw what massively increasing the number of Hispanic voters achieved for them there (from Governor Reagan to a deep blue state) and want to do the same thing for the rest of the country. Can you imagine Democrats supporting an immigration program that brings in heavily Republican blocs of voters with the assumption that somehow, some way they will turn them into liberals down the road? Of course not, because despite their many, many flaws, Democrats are not that stupid. Sadly, many amnesty-loving Republicans are.

INS should deliver a family of “refugees” to the doorstep of every libtard that tweets out on this.

Dear Mr. Hawkins,

They’re not stupid. They know exactly what they’re doing.

Best,

Check the headline of The NY Times front page for Aug.23, 1862. “Indians slaughter 500 whites...”. I wonder if this kind of thing had something to do with it all...

The ones already in the US are problematic and now require expedited hearings, then deport back. Better if we require the country of origin or the country they were last in to take them. ALL OF THEM. Let them then go to a US embassy or consulate and apply to come to the US.

Close the border. Do not let anyone in if they do not already have correct permission. No one. Any requests go to an embassy or consulate.

This is Mexico's problem. They let them in, or they are from Mexico. Doesn't matter. They are Mexico's problem. Return them home, lock 'em up, kill them, I really don't care. Not our problem.

My favorite is them telling us the jobs in our economy require us to get lots of education, training, and high skill levels... and then they flood in millions of the most uneducated people on the planet. Many have never even seen a flush toilet.

So which is it?

Probably not possible, but one solution would be to close the Southern border to all without legal authorization (visas, work permits) until a satisfactory immigration law is passed. Asylum seekers cannot enter until the law is passed. That will provide motivation to get the job done. The public must also speak out against amnesty.

Immigration law as it used to be with quotas assigned for each continent and a thorough process for applicants is best.

Anyone who has entered illegally should never be granted citizenship - work permits OK in some cases such as for agricultural jobs, but never citizenship - Illegal entry a disqualifier. That condition alone will keep them out.

The Statue of Liberty says "Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.”

No it doesn't. A plaque at the Statue of Liberty attached to it long after the statue was dedicated says that.

Paul Ryan and the GOP leadership want amnesty, if for no other reason than cheap labor for those corporate bigwigs who are donors.

Hey, you bunch of spineless idiots, how about thinking of US out here, rather than getting your sorry ass reelected? Read the polls: Most Americans do NOT want amnesty, so why not do what your constituents want for a change. How’s that for a novel idea? Until I seem that kind of movement, the GOP doesn’t get a dime from me. I’ll pick the candidates to support.

Republicans who support amnesty not only deserve to lose, they will lose because America as we have known it will cease to exist.

Which is exactly what the Democrats want. They’re not stupid. However many Republicans are, who join in the misplaced hope national suicide is a form of virtue.

And people who want to take the country down with them can’t be made to see its stupid.

In a word, Open Borders Republicans are exactly like the late Anthony Bourdain and if they should get it their way, they will share his fate.

Even so...who cares? That stupid plaque is NOT one of our Founding Documents. It is NOT a law. It is NOT immigration policy. It's a stupid, emotionally over wrought poem. And if people can't reconcile having a Statue of Liberty and strong immigration policy then blow the damned thing up!

It’s Really This Simple:

The sole objective of the open borders Democrat Socialists is to flood the United States with poor, illiterate and non-contributing foreign aliens who can be granted amnesty; easily enslaved with welfare dependency; and, form the basis of a new minority underclass that will ensure a permanent electoral majority for the foreseeable future.

EVERYTHING you see and hear from Democrat Socialists and their co-conspiring media is a direct extension of this objective, whether it be their histrionic outrage over separating families; “Russian Collusion;” opposition to border wall construction; liberal judges granting voting rights to non-citizens; every “astroturfed” protest; tolerance of the infiltration of murdering terrorists and gangs like MS-13; downplaying the escalation and horror of narcotics, adult human and child sex trafficking; establishing “sanctuary cities” in direct violation of federal immigration laws; and on, and on, and on.

All of these examples are just spokes in the Democrat Socialist wheel, but the hub of the wheel is the criminal and unconstitutional acquisition of unconstrained and unopposed power to control the lives of ordinary American citizens, while enriching themselves and their criminal enablers at the trough of the public treasury. It really is this simple. Don’t allow yourself to be distracted.

“The sole objective of the open borders Democrat Socialist”

The problem with that theory is that Bush had both houses of Congress and flooded the illegals in. Trump now has a GOP house and senate, and they fight him at every turn.

The problem is not democrats. It is the US chamber of commerce, our national business leaders who crow about free trade etc, and all the Republicans they bribe.
When we realize this is a republican problem, we can begin to solve it.

Good luck with those arguments. For most liberals, their ears turn off and their brains shut down when confronted with an opposing viewpoint.

The Statue of Liberty doesn’t say anything about immigrants. Its real name is “Liberty Lighting the World,” and it is a monument to Freedom, not an open invitation to invasion.

The oft-quoted words are from the poem “The New Colossus,” written by Emma Lazarus as a fund-raiser in 1883, eight years after the statue was begun. The poem was never intended to be a policy statement.

Why do so many fall into the trap of apologizing for asking that our borders and laws be respected?

Trump is required by law, he took an oath, that he enforce the law of the land.

The instant we go defensive on this, we look like the villain.

The USA is the victim here of illegal immigration.

We didn’t ask all these Central American parents to abuse their kids by taking them to the US with phony claims of asylum.

Besides, those foreign citizen children are much better off in our detention centers than sleeping on dirt like they had been on the way through Mexico.
