Sen. Ted Cruz leads Democrat Beto O’Rourke 49 to 43 percent in a new poll conducted for one of O’Rourke’s Democratic allies.

The new poll was conducted by the Democratic polling firm Greenberg Quinlan Rosner Research, on behalf of a group that advocates for campaign finance reform, End Citizens United. [...]

Greenberg Quinlan Rosner surveyed 1,000 likely voters between May 29 and June 5. The poll had a margin of error of +/- 3.1 percent. It included supplemental oversamples of likely voters in the Austin and San Antonio media markets to gain addition data on voters in those areas. The oversamples were not included in the statewide results. [...]

Doesn’t mean anything. Cruz will win by >12 points.

What are the chances that they only asked people who claimed to be democrat voters?

If so, then Beto is doing pretty badly and probably NOT in single digits.

Remember how they had Hillary beating Trump at 95% in one poll?

likely voters

Sure they are going to vote in a non-Presidential year--just ask them!

Who is running again?

When?

For what office?

If they don't push-poll this stuff they will get 80% "don't knows" in June in a non-Presidential year.

It will be a blow-out.

This sounds like the hopeful claptrap they were running when Cruz won his first Senate election.

There is one thing: Cruz is becoming notorious for NOT responding directly to his constituents. You just get form emails or letters. It is more than a little frustrating and starting to piss off the base.

People in TX like this O’Rourke because he reminds them of John and Robert Kennedy! TCruz may not realize that he is in for a real fight.

What a joke. Even when liberals cook up their own polls, they still can’t win here in Texas.

Pretty close. Is massive illegal immigration and California transplants going to make Texas blue this year?

That’s why Ted went “oh the caged children are baaad, let’s not keep them separated” crap yesterday so he could get the upper hand in the polls.

President Trump won by 9%.

I’m not saying pollsters lie, but . . .

Golly, I’m surprised Beto O’Rourke isnt making a campaign issue about Ted Cruz not endorsing Trump in the 2016 presidential primary (smirk).

Another one of Obama's vainglorious dreams bites the dust:

<><>turning Texas blue (nope)

<><>a permanent Democrat majority (nope)

<><>electing Hillary to his third term (nah).
