“Where did he stand on certain Constitutional issues?”

Well, he is accused of ignoring the Constitutional issue about stealing from the taxpayer.

The question that must be asked is, “Is this a political witch hunt?” There is every likelihood he acted consistently with the behavior of every other justice on the court and of the bureaucracy in general, prosecutorial claims to the contrary notwithstanding.
The occasional use of a public vehicle for personal use and moving a piece of office furniture from one office to another are not in and of themselves more than scofflaw violations, certainly not worthy of life in prison. As to the refurbishing of office space the budget was apparently in place to do this.
This smells at a deeper level. This was a highly recognized judge with many years of experience. It is impossible to believe the government officials of WVA are so pure in every detail of their professional lives that actions such as these are rare and exceptional, requiring criminal charges. There may be more to his purported criminal behavior but it is not apparent from this article or from the published pieces about him available online.
Adding to these concerns the fact that the FBI is intensely politicized leaves grave concern for the legitimacy of these charges.
