Oh, yeah. That's because it has to stop now and take 50 million years to surface, because that's how we want it to work.

Sorry. That was hyperbolic of me. Agreed that it might not surface. But they did have a look because of recent, new geo-events brought to their attention. As to whether there could be an eruption or what kind, that depends on what’s in the strata beneath the area. My guess would be a slow one, because there might be no established hard dome under the area from previous lava blobs.
