Trump's approval rating above 50% in new Florida poll

A CBS News poll conducted between June 19 and June 22 provides the latest piece of good news for Republicans hoping to beat back a predicted "blue wave." Among likely voters, Trump has an approval rating of 53 percent in the poll while 48 percent disapprove of the president's job performance.

The online survey of 1,002 registered voted - conducted for CBS News by YouGov - comes on the heels of a Politico poll released last week that had Trump at 48 percent approval in Florida and 49 percent disapproval. Factoring in the margin of error in both polls, Trump basically is even when it comes to those who approve and disapprove of his performance, a big improvement from just a few months ago. A Quinnipiac University Poll from February had Trump at 42 percent approval in Florida and 54 percent disapproval.

Democrats are energized to push back against Trump and the GOP agenda right now and have been getting out to vote.

...

And being associated with Trump hasn't hurt candidates such as Gov. Rick Scott. The CBS poll had Scott, a Republican who strongly backed Trump in 2016, leading by five percentage points among likely voters in his bid to unseat Democratic U.S. Sen. Bill Nelson. Scott had the support of 46 percent of likely voters, compared to 41 percent for Nelson. The governor's approval rating in the poll is 62 percent among likely voters.

This is awful for Nelson. Perhaps he should have Marxine come down there to campaign with him.

There never WAS a “blue wave.”

It was a hopeful proposition that was grabbed onto as “fact” by the fake news media, just like hiLIARy was a lock.

Only Trump could have a poll that is 101%.

"...Democrats are eager to pushback against Trump and the GOP agenda..."

This whole “take home more of your paycheck” and “enter our country lawfully” is some really radical ideology!

Not sure why everyone isn't seeing how FAR 'We The People' have come as far as State Governors and State Houses and Senates (Assemblies) being WON by Republicans. Yes, there are some RINOs, but still! This is FANTASTIC and shows how MARGINALIZED the Dems really are! In many states, even IF the Governor is a Dem, the State House & Senate is controlled by Republicans. 'Blue Wave' my Aunt Fanny!

I am hopeful but it is early. Six years ago the fool was polling at 39% at this point and cane roaring back in a series of weeks in the late summer. Fortunately, Scott is much more formidable than Connie Mack and will campaign his ass off, as opposed to Mack who literally disappeared in the fall.

But the media said with all the new Puerto Rican’s, Florida would inevitably turn blue?! Haha...I’m of Puerto Rican descent and many are conservative. My retired Marine uncle and cousin both live in Florida are are very pro-Trump. Don’t believe the hype!

Scott has been our governor for 8 years. He has a great way of deflecting media bias. They will try to use a trap question and he comes back and talks about jobs, no matter what the question is

Scott will easily defeat Democrat, Bill Nelson and Ron DeSantis will easily be elected Governor. Florida will become a full blown “Trump Red State” this coming November.
