Strategy on immigration--call out Canada for not taking in South and Central American Immigrants

Canada is only 2% Hispanic while the US is 18% (it was only 6.5% during the 80s, that is a nearly 300% growth in population) few know this fact-- Canada does not take in almost any south and Central Americans. (why should they have that luxury, while the world leans on us?)

Canada's leadership's attitude is they can point their fingers at us, saying "take more in" while they hypocritically take in virtually none. Their justification is that we are "the first country they arrived to" so we should take them. That is flimsy at best.

We should lean on Canada to take in their "fair share" of central and south Americans. if they say yes, they reduce the burden upon us. if they refuse, it will be known throughout the world, thus making it easier for us to say no as well.

I think this would be a very good strategy in helping us reduce the pressure on our country to take in immigrants from these countries.

Trudeau has been under increasing pressure to suspend the Safe Third Country Agreement, a 2004-era pact under which asylum seekers presenting at a land border crossing in either country are turned back and told to apply for refugee status in the first country they arrived in.

While Trudeau hypocritically says-- "What is happening in the United States is unacceptable. I cannot imagine what these families are going through. Obviously this is not the way we do things in Canada," (it certainly isn't, you just turn them away)

The Canada answer is to hypocritically wag fingers at us and virtue signal, while they take in almost no central and South Americans, putting ALL the burden on us. They care, we pay.

Trump has made it clear that our immigration policy should be more like Canada’s. Canada is VERY friendly if you have a million dollars to invest, so they get plenty of business people from both India and South Africa (people who are willing to cooperate with the existing system).

No!

The problem is that if Canada does take more, the border with Canada is even more porous and harder to secure than the sourthern border.

So if Canada takes them in, they’ll have a way into the US.

We can say “No” just fine with or without Canada’s example.

100 percent absolutely correct.

Especially since Canada is so critical of our immigration policies - we need to fast-track these tens of thousands of immigrants on into the Great White North.

Why call out Canada. If they have been more protective of their heritage--more power to them. If the result is accidental, that is no reason to attack them. Jefferson, our most tolerant President, recognized the cultural problem with what the Left, today, seeks as "diversity."

See An American Immigration Policy.

I have the greatest respect for other nations. But I do not have the illusion that all peoples are equally compatible with one another's heritage. There is absolutely no evidence of such.

Canada has a program where companies can demonstrate a need for guest workers because of turnover in their labor force are able to get work visas. US not so much. US makes the process so onerous that companies quit the process as their cost sore. Then the government criminally investigate the companies for fraudulent application.

Read up on what Canada did to Chinese migrants who helped build the trans pacific railroad and it will in essence capture the abject hypocracy of the canadian government when it comes to immigration. They love pointing fingers up here with the cheap smugness of an adolescent child yet live in lily-white communities protected by knowledge that the “evil’ US will deal with it and no actual immigration threat from the north.

We do not have a sense of heritage up here unless you consider “multuculturalism” as a virtue! Anything remotely attached to historical Canada is being systematically removed to satisfy the idea of multicultism!

I have a better idea....

SHUT THE F*CKING DOORS.

For a minimum of 20 years. And go back to 1993, at least and look at every refugee that was allowed in this country and start shipping them back, especially the Somalians. If it’s too dangerous to live there, then it’s too dangerous to visit, as so many seem to do. All while living on the government dime. So, for those that have made the trip back, to a land that is so dangerous, ship them and everyone in their family back.

Visa overstayer’s .... See ya!!

I understand that. Frankly, I hope & pray that they will wake up. Their heritage, our heritage & the heritages of most nations, reflect many generations of upward strivings by their respective peoples. Wiping out the achievements of centuries is a crime against humanity.

I would encourage both the Canadians & the Central Americans to preserve what is theirs in the lands of their forebears.

Yeah, they do. My wife is from Grande Prairie, AB, plenty cold (-40), plenty of east Indians. The fooks who don’t like cold try to go to coastal BC. No pronlem getting Somalis to settle in Maine or Minnesota, which are on par with much of Canada, and plenty of Middle Easterners now call cold Sweden home.

Ironically I was looking at some old vintage photos of the west at an online site and several were from Canada, including shots of Indians. I thought “how come the USA gets tarred and feathered for our treatment of the Indians but nobody mentions Canada?” They get a pass because ... they’re not us. And the view from their moral high horse must be magnificent. But I’m all for pointing out their hypocrisy such as their closed border policies while scolding us for ours not being open enough.

Yes, and IMO that is why we should still make Canada explain themselves before the world why they insist that we take in Mexicans and South Americans while they take in none. Then say we should have the right to have the same or similar policies as they have.

We should say no no matter what, my strategy makes it easier to do so.

IMO these immigrants will not come to the US from canada, they would have just as cushy an existence up there, maybe more so.

I like Trump’s approach better. He say’s “No, it’s not good for America.” And he tells other countries that they should protect their culture as well. And he calls then insane if they don’t.

We shouldn’t ask another country to do what we think is a bad idea, in hopes of making ourselves look better when we don’t do it ourselves.

The Mayor of Toronto, John Tory has flooded the television screen using CBC. He called for emergency meetings with the Federal Authorities. He sounded desperate. Just like one of the few honest Canadian talking heads had predicted. She held back from the self righteous pompous other heads and said " It may be a matter of logistics".

So it is. Schools vacant for the summer holidays are packed with new immigrants. When the summer holidays are over and the students return. it is out. An burly male individual from Honduras was interviewed on TV. He asked aggressively quote: Where is this going. This on the situation he will face shortly.
