President Trump said he would move quickly to name a replacement. He also said his nominee would be drawn from a list of 25 names that the White House issued in November.

McConnell said the Senate will move quickly on a replacement. Any Democratic hopes that Mr. McConnell might hold up the Senate’s consideration of Justice Kennedy’s successor until after the midterm elections were quickly put to rest. Mr. McConnell took to the Senate floor not long after Justice Kennedy’s announcement to make clear that he expected to begin consideration of a replacement as soon as possible.

I’m of the opinion that McConnell canceled summer recess to make dead sure that there’d be no recess appointments.

I’m guessing that the SCOTUS replacement will end up going along just as splendidly as all the other mass of appointments that are going no where.

Exactly!

The longest minute in anyone’s life, is listening to Mitch breathe while trying to decide if he needs to go potty or not, and if so who to take with him.

Re #7:
Kind of hard to hold a vote tomorrow when there isn’t even a nominee, isn’t it?

Say what you may . . . he knows the parliamentarian rules/games of the Senate . . . probably better than Dirty Harry Reid . . . and considering we have Gorsuch . . .

While we might want him to go nuclear . . . we don’t want it to bite us in the butt 4 or 8 or 12 or more years from now.

While Matt Bevin was a great alternative for Mitch, glad he is now Gov of KY and while Mitch might be a little too far GOPe .. .he is what we got now and we have to live with it. For now.

I don't think any bitch GOP Senator dares vote NO on TRUMP's Supreme Court pick!

This is too important for the voters to forgive!

Looking at that video, maybe it's his wife who is pissed, and the turtle is just doing what she is telling him to do.

51 GOP senators. Mccain ill and maybe not make confirmation vote. Would Schumer dare have Dems go into hiding so there is not a quorum? Would fed marshals go hunting them and drag their butts into the chamber?

I agree, and yet McConnell’s one of the most powerful men in the country. Something’s not right about that.

I’m not asking Mitch to go postal. There’s just so many things that need to be done, and he’s already close to frittering away the first half of Trump’s term in office.

Why aren’t the Republicans lofting bill after bill after bill?

Crickets!

I don’t want him to do something that will haunt us. That’s a decent point. There’s still so many things that can be done.

Judges aren’t the only issue.

Saying what we have, where are Ryan and McConnell when it comes to defending or supporting Trump?

They almost never do.

The tax bill was passed, and you’d have thought McConnell just did ten years worth of work in that one bill. No, it was time to go put forth another bill and another...

They are slow walking Trump’s agenda.

They don’t want what Trump is pushing any more than the Left does.

I should be more respectful of the guy, but we’re losing an incredible opportunity here.

You’re right.
