Donald Trump Jr. bets Elizabeth Warren $10,000 that Kimberly Guilfoyle is 'more Native American'
Washington Times ^ | June 28, 2018 | Victor Morton

Never mind Elizabeth Warren — President Trump could soon have a “Pocahontas” in his own family.

And Donald Trump Jr. wants to make a sport of it.

In a segment on Fox News Channel’s “The Five,” the anchors took the popular “23 and Me” DNA tests to determine their ancestry.

According to the tests, 6.1 percent of Kimberly Guilfoyle’s DNA is “East Asian and Native American,” with 5.3 percent definitely Native American and the rest possibly either.

The posting of the results by the conservative site Twitchy prompted the presidential son, who has been widely reported as dating Ms. Guilfoyle, to engage in some snark at Ms. Warren’s expense and for the benefit of a Native American charity.

“I’ll make this interesting. I’ll bet @SenWarren $10,000 to a Native American charity that @kimguilfoyle is more Native American than she is. [Let me know],” he wrote on Twitter.

LOL! Fox News’ Kimberly Guilfoyle could be more Native American than Elizabeth Warrenhttps://t.co/so3NqZsker — Donald Trump Jr. (@DonaldJTrumpJr) June 28, 2018

Ms. Warren has been criticized for years for having claimed to be a Cherokee Indian, although the Massachusetts Democrat is not registered as a tribe member and some of her defenses have struck her critics as flimsy. The president and other Republicans have taken to mocking her as “Pocahontas” or “Fauxcahontas.”

There was no immediate reaction from the Twitter account of Ms. Warren that the younger Mr. Trump tagged.

According to our family lore, we’re all Cherokee and we’ve always taken some pride in that.

In recent years, though, several of us have taken the test and not one drop of Native American blood among us. Not one.

We’re all a bit mystified, where did the family stories come from? We didn’t expect high percentages, but none was a surprise.

I found the same thing! According to what a late uncle had told me, I should be 1/16th Cherokee - it was zero.

I will up the ante on Don Jr’s bet and bet 10,000 that Warren has zero Native American ancestry.

I read that different tests give difference results.

Maybe your family had Cherokee in-laws.

You might have Cherokee relatives through a mutual white ancestor.

I read that different tests give difference results.

The tests are irrelevant. The real issues is whether Warren feels more Native American than Guilfoyle.

'Cause it would show her to be a liar and a phony fake fraud.

Harvard doesn't have a problem with that, however.

It's my understanding that different DNA tests can vary in their ability to identify Asian and Native American ancestry. I don't expect more than 1/16th or 1/32nd as a result, but having traced our genealogy through birth records to a specific Cherokee individual on my father's side, and the confidence my grandmother on my mother's side had in her Delaware (Lenape) ancestry, I'm going to try the test mentioned in this report. I've always been very proud of this reputed history, but unlike Fauxfahontas was never tempted to use it to claim any benefits or preferences reserved for the folks my European ancestors pushed aside.

P.S.: George A. Custer was a lifelong Democrat.

We did a dna text on our 17 year old granddaughter. Because of her birth father, she is 33% South American Indian. Beautiful skin, curly hair, and blue eyes.

Family lore also went down my history as well. The story led to the great-great-grandmother who was dark-skinned, brought to southern Tenn by the husband, and claimed her mother was raped by Cherokee Indians (would have been in the 1770s-1780s).

Well, I took the DNA test and no Indian DNA came out of the results.

But that’s not really the end of the story. What did come was DNA results (.7 percent) from western Africa (probably the region of Gambia to Ghana). So the relative’s story was faked up by herself to avoid saying that she was a slave-child product with some plantation owner.

But that wasn’t really the end of the DNA business. There is a small bit of Ashkenazi Jewish blood (.5 percent showed up). That was not anticipated either. But I went back in family history, and there is this line of the family that lived ‘forever’ in France, and left in the 1650 time period....spending two generations in central Germany, and then leaving for Maryland. Somewhere in this two generation period, one of them married some local German, who probably was a product of some Ashkenazi Jewish family.
