It's Almost July and Snow Is Falling in Newfoundland, Canada
The Weather Company ^ | June 26, 2018 | Chris Dolce

Posted on 06/28/2018 7:08:36 AM PDT by george76

Residents of Newfoundland, Canada, were greeted with snow and biting cold winds Tuesday morning despite the fact that July begins in just a few days.

Gander, Newfoundland, reported light snow and a wind chill of 20 degrees Fahrenheit in the hours after sunrise Tuesday. The average high temperature in this city of nearly 12,000 people is in the 60s during June and near 70 degrees in July.

Photos and videos from Gander and other parts of Newfoundland showed the snow accumulating not only on grassy areas but also on roads. For geographic reference, Newfoundland is a part of Canada's easternmost province in the northwest Atlantic Ocean.

This is the final week of school in Newfoundland, yet kids and school buses had to trudge through winterlike weather conditions instead of the summer sun.

...

Newfoundland's Transportation and Works Department had plows removing snow from roads in west-central and central Newfoundland.

...

This is the second snowfall in Newfoundland this month. Another storm affected the area with snow in early June.

Summer in NL is August and September. Being on the edge of the North Atlantic creates a unique climate zone. Living there is not for the feint of heart, but it’s a great place to visit.

I was born and raised in eastern Maine.
Over my early years (50s & 60s) living up there, I’ve seen it snow every month of the year except for maybe July & August. On the other side of the coin, I’ve been out deer hunting on Thanksgiving Day in a t-shirt it was so warm, but the next morning had 8” of snow on the ground and was 25 degrees. I’ve flipped hamburgers on an outside grille on 4th of July and had to wear a winter parka because it was so cold. Weather extremes/changes in the far NE have been that way for a long, long time. IF they think that’s due to climate change, they’re so full of BS....but then we all know that already...LOL

I am sure that some warming enthusast will say that this is obviously the result of global warming. Global warming causes global cooling which contributes greatly to global warming.

I’m ready! LOL! In 2012 we had snow in town in June. We’re a little further south than Newfoundland.

I was stationed at Loring AFB, Maine, back in the early 60’s. When I got my orders to ship out to Germany, it was snowing, in August, when I drove off the base, on my way to Georgia to drop off my car before going overseas.

I was in Round Harbour in June of ‘82 and it snowed
but that was early June and nothing like the amount coming down now.

“I am sure that some warming enthusast will say that this is obviously the result of global warming. Global warming causes global cooling which contributes greatly to global warming.”

Yup. Here’s the explanation:

Global warming melts arctic ice, which evaporates into the arctic atmosphere. This moisture condenses and falls as snow in the arctic regions.

Now, that’s the Warmist’s explanation and it seems to be playing out, it’s a Negative Feedback (causes cooling).

The Warmist’s have the same type of a feedback for the tropics which was supposed to cause a “hotspot”,(positive feedback, causes MORE warming) and was supposed to overwhelm all negative feedbacks.

This has NOT been the case.
