President Donald Trump reportedly has said he thinks he can remake nearly half of the nation's highest court in his image with four separate appointments.

•Presidents Barack Obama and George W. Bush made only two appointments each over eight years in office.

•Ruth Bader Ginsburg is 85, and Trump has reportedly speculated that Sonia Sotomayor could be forced into early retirement because of diabetes.

•Sotomayor has said she has the situation under control.

•If Trump replaced a liberal justice with a conservative, he could change the court's makeup for decades....

Really hope the GOP can hold onto (and gain) seats in the Senate this November.

Roy Moore really put them in a tight spot.

It’ll be interesting to see if Doug Jones has any (delusional) hope of holding onto that seat past 2020. He is an abortion fanatic, however, so maybe he figures he’ll just fall on his sword with these judicial appointments for a cushy lobbying job after he’s thrown out on his ear. My prediction is that he votes for any that aren’t decided by 1 vote.

early retirement because of diabetes

Based on her dissension on the EO immigration/Visa ban, I would think she could be forced out for mental instability.

Not sure the thinking on diabetes being grounds for throwing her off the bench.

A couple of years ago, there were rumors that SJ Thomas was wanting to retire.

It is difficult to know whether that was just wishful thinking on the part of the Left.

If another opening occurs, you want bet the farm that the Dems/Media and some of the GOPestablishment will be pushing for a ‘like’ justice. That is, they would demand a left-leaning justice be appointed — for fairness, of course.

I’d like to see Alito replaced as he is 68 years old. If I were Trump, I’d replace everyone of them but Gorsuch. I think he really needs to bring in Thomas, Alito, and the other dude and tell them it is time to go for the good of the country. Then replace with under 45 year old judges. We have got to play long term. It was STUPID to put Alito on the court at such an old age. We need judges on the court for 50 years to stop liberals from getting a chance to replace. We will NOT always have a Republican President or Senate. Let’s be smart for a change.

There are at least five or six very winnable seats. If the GOP cannot retain the majority with this electoral map, then we have bigger problems.

More like slimy Jeff put us in a tight spot.

Sessions has really been Trump’s only major blunder so far and he certainly couldn’t have seen that coming.

Not “throwing her off” that’s almost impossible. Early retirement due to health issues.

The diabetics I know, over the age of 60, desire to live low stress free lives. I do not see this job as stress free.

“Not sure the thinking on diabetes being grounds for throwing her off the bench.”

She’s been off the Court for her Type I Diabetes. She has been hospitalized for treatment. She’s had the disease since she was a child. That is not a recipe for a long life. Dying would definitely remove her from the bench.

When this happens, don’t walk under or near any tall buildings, as libtards all over the nation will be on suicide watch and throwing themselves out of windows.

Not that that’s a bad thing, mind you...

If Ginsberg can still do it (through her staff doing all the work), it must be relatively stress-free, for the ones who just want to hold places.
