Trump wants second round of tax cuts this year

WASHINGTON – President Donald Trump on Friday said he wanted to further lower the corporate tax rate, from 21 percent to 20 percent, as part of a second round of tax cuts later this year.

Trump, in an interview with Fox News to mark the six-month anniversary of the $1.5 trillion tax cut law Republicans passed last year, said other parts of the new tax plan would be tailored to the middle class.

“One of the things we’re thinking about is bringing the 21 percent down to 20 and for the most part, the rest of it will go right to the middle class,” Trump said. “It’s a great stimulus.”

Trump said the tax plan would be ready by October, “maybe a little sooner than that.”

“I don’t see it as one bill. I see it as a package of two, three, or four approaches with permanency [in the tax cuts for families and individuals] being one of them.”

GO TRUMP!

No Finish Line!

And while we’re at it, make charitable contribution 100% deductible for all taxpayers...don’t include them as part of the “standard deduction”. And no phase-out for higher income taxpayers, either.

Can’t the Congress once and for all repeal ALL of 0bamacare?

That is choking the middle class far more than Federal tax rates - as it was designed to do incidentally.

The ACA is no gift to the American people. It is an unconstitutional, intrusive, expensive monstrosity that needs to go.

Don’t get me wrong, I’ll take the tax cut.

If they were just crumbs, why was Pelosi so opposed to giving them? How much of a tax cut was in her plan?

Permanent cuts are a far bigger deal than the cut from 21% to 20%, but killing ObamaCare would be an even bigger deal. I want every vestige of Obama’s destructive legacy dead, beheaded with its mouth full of garlic, and with a stake of holly driven through the ACA’s heart. Then replace the remaining far-left fringe Justices on our Supreme Court!

Doesn’t Trump have 3 new plans coming out in the next couple of weeks?

Full story is somewhat positive (or at least neutral) without the usual counterclaims from Nancy and Chuck about women and minorities hit hardest.

But with the following bit of (I think) fake news below the middle of the story:

“Public opinion polls show the majority of Americans still view the tax cuts relatively negatively, with many believing the wealthy and corporations were the biggest recipients.”

Hogwash, eh?

And move Employee Business Expenses and Investment Expenses To above the line deductions. In full, no 2% BS. They are expenses attributable to income that is fully taxed, so they should be fully deductible, Itemizer or not

Tax return prep fees as well.

Is there anyone left on this site who cares about what making these cuts permanent does to the projected deficit?

Nope.

Obsessing about the deficit is what gave us the infamous Byrd Amendment requiring that any tax changes be "revenue neutral"....in other words, a repudiation of Reaganomics.
