WASHINGTON — Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy's retirement creates the possibility that President Donald Trump will nominate a Texan for the seat...While Cruz supported Willett's nomination to the 5th Circuit, he endorsed Sen. Mike Lee, R-Utah, for Kennedy's Supreme Court seat in an appearance on Fox News on Wednesday.

From four days ago... Yeah, I know. Bloomberg claimed to have a list of five potential nominees from a secret source, and other sites picked that up from Bloomberg. That's the reason for the particular names seen on the list (more feminist picks, more Catholic picks, unknowns on key issues, perhaps leaning toward more immunities and power for agents of governments, compromises for Democrats, etc.).

Don Willett was also endorsed by the NRA (Bearing Arms site) and Gun Owners of America (The Trace: evil gun control site).

Here's a guest column written by Don Willett.

I don't know why "The Associated Press" appears on Rachel's column page. She writes for Dallas News.

Some political Catholics have also been promoting her for the Supreme Court, because...Catholic and female, of course.

“...Bloomberg claimed to have a list of five potential nominees from a secret source,”.

I am so done with “secret” (”unnamed”, “confidential”, et al) sources and I refuse to believe ANY news story that cites such a source.

If they can’t name a source, it didn’t happen.

Not to pee in everyone’s popcorn, but with a 51(50)/49 majority and Collins/Murkowski threatening to jump ship over the abortion issue it’s pretty obvious that a Gorsuch clone would be our best bet. If the nominee fails it’s going to push the next nominee past the November elections.

I say do it, make her the first pick and let the Dems (and RINOs) stumble all over themselves saying how a woman with seven children (mom’s can do it all), 2 adopted from Haiti (embraces diversity and helps those less fortunate) is too “extreme”, especially in light of their recent claims of keeping families together and not “ripping children from their mother’s arms”. Make them all go on record with their vote. If she’s rejected, there are plenty of other great picks, too, and the video of the hearings will make great mid-term election fodder.

Yep. They're pro-abortion. I was in a university in one of those communities.

Not too concerned, I think we’ll get a couple of confirmation votes from Dems running for re-election in Red States to offset Collins/Murkowski.

Three Democrats voted to confirm Gorsuch. They're in states that voted heavily for Trump.

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, President Trump do not make the mistake of selecting this woman. She is a flaming Liberal masquerading as a Conservative. The judicial equivalent of a Congressional RINO! DO NOT EVEN CONSIDER HER!!

Please, Mr. President, do NOT nominate Barrett. Doing so would be a mistake ten times worse than your appointment of that useless POS hiding under his desk over at the DOJ!

I’m sure Trump will pick an excellent person, but consider a couple of things:

1) Even if our women bail on the pick, the Democrats have something like 5 candidates who will be hurt badly if they go against the pick...and without all of the Dems following Shumer off the cliff, our women won’t matter.

2) As to our women - it CERTAINLY POSSIBLE to be both pro-choice, including wanting laws to protect abortion, but still be AGAINST Roe vs. Wade, based on how the issue was forced on the entire country. That seems to have always been the position of the Republican pro-choice Senators in the past, where they voted, I think every time, for some really pro-life people, like Alito, Scalia, and Thomas. Sure, this new Justice may end Roe vs. Wade...but may not either, you never know.

I like Mike Lee, but I do not want to lose a Republican in the Senate. Find a judge that is NOT a sitting Senator.

Willett would be my top choice. There are some others on Trump’s list who also look like good choices though. There are some others I just don’t know enough about.
