CLEVELAND — Officials say a man has been arrested for an alleged plan to attack downtown Cleveland on July 4.
FBI agents said Monday they began investigating the suspect, identified as Demetrius Nathaniel Pitts, back in 2017. Investigators say they received tips that Pitts, also known as Abdur Raheem Rahfeeq, had made statements in support of Al-Qaeda. Pitts, an American citizen with an extensive criminal background, also expressed a disdain for the U.S. military.
Officials say Pitts spoke to undercover agents about the impact an explosion would have on Cleveland's upcoming July 4th parade.
Anderson says the Pitts was arrested for "attempted material support of a foreign terrorist organization."

Well for once the FBI actually stopped an individual BEFORE he committed a massive terrorist action.

Reads like this was a common criminal lured in by FBI assets, convinced to have a terrorist action, then busted.

My first impression was, “wow, what an American-sounding name.” Then...
“also known as Abdur Raheem Rahfeeq”
But I had to dig deeper. Was this a Muslim immigrant who changed his name to blend in? Or was it an American who converted? Apparently the latter:
“The suspect is a U.S. citizen who became radicalized at home.”
Christianity reaches out to sinners (which is all of us) and even criminals with a message of mercy, grace, and forgiveness.
Jihadists Islam targets criminals, especially in prison, to join their gang, telling them that their rage and criminal behavior is justified and their criminal activities represent valuable trade skills for their religion.
Maybe he is just pissed off about the whole Labron James thing...

Actually, since 2001, there have been some 900 busts involving Islamic terrorists. The old media rarely reports all events.

Actually, I found a data set used by some hard left organization to formulate a very deceiving study about how alt Right terrorists are far more deadly in the US ... at the bottom of the study was a link to the spreadsheet, and there were 396 terrorists on there that the FBI had caught plotting and arrested. All but about 20 had Arabic names. It was astounding. I guess they don’t publicize it because they want terrorist cells unaware, but I do believe the FBI is getting good things done very quietly.
