It is a basic First Amendment right, known as freedom of association.

I had a Liberal Relative (through Marriage) upset as he could be when I said the Civil Rights Act should have only applied to Governmental Entities.
The idea that a Law was passed (good intentions do not necessarily make good Law) that attacked my Freedom of Assembly Rights as an American Citizen is completely and utterly Unconstitutional.
The average Citizen of this Country has no concept of what true Freedom means. Things will have to get very bad before they do.

Now, I would like to see that very same principle practiced equally across all political stripes. It's legal to discriminate. Right? I mean, no shoes, no shirt, disagreeable politics, objectionable morals, religious beliefs, sexual preferences, tattoos, dress code, language, ethnicity, physique.... Business owners should be motivated by profit, morals and civility, not by regulations. If they choose to be exclusive, let the market dictate their success.
