Taiwan is a democracy, PRC is not. And while they weren't much of one up through the 90's, they are one now and deserved of being re-elevated to full diplomatic ties.
The PRC can just deal with that.

And why does Communist China even know of this request? (Rhetorical question). The Marines should have just shown up and China could have faced a fait accompli.

China should emulate Taiwan, not try to absorb it.

A Chinese official is warning the U.S. to "exercise caution" following a report that the State Department wants to send a small team of Marines to guard a diplomatic facility in Taiwan. Guard it from whom?

Everything not China irks China. China’s so-called “one-china” policy is their one-world policy.
The time to leave them holding the bag and up to their armpits in poisoned dog food is now. This “trade war” talk is crap. It’s always been a war to the Chinese, at least what passes for them since Mao.

The PRC needs an attitude adjustment and DJT is working on that with his trade policy.

The proper response to Communist China’s objection to the US sending a small group of Marines to the Republic of China is to send an entire combat division of Marines to the Republic of China.
