I agree with you but I also think that both Trump and Cruz have the same goals in the republican party and as long as those goals coincide they can work together but both of them see themselves as patriots and if they had a strong enough conflicting motive they would turn on each other because of the previous history during the campaign. if they had a better relationship that would not be the case and they would try to talk it out but they have history.

Cruz is right.

Lee is another strict constructionist.

Problem is he is a senator, and we cannot spare one right now.

Ted Cruz believes himself to be a natural born citizen even though he was born in Canada and his father was Cuban.

And I am expected to take his recommendation for the supreme court seriously?

Lee is the kinda pick Trump should make if and only if a couple superior choices get voted down by Collins, Murkowski and their ilk. He’s not the first card you play.

So long as Ted Cruz is anti-Trump, NOTHING he advises should be taken as anything but an anti-Trump ploy.

Flashback

Utah Sen. Mike Lee voted for McMullin in protest of Trump (2016)
Salt Lake Tribune ^ | · November 9, 2016 | Dan Harrie The Salt Lake Tribune

http://archive.sltrib.com/article.php?id=4563854&itype=CMSID

Utah Sen. Mike Lee, who is on Donald Trump’s lengthy short list for Supreme Court nominees, revealed Wednesday that he voted for independent presidential candidate Evan McMullin.

“It was a protest vote,” he told an audience at the Kem C. Gardner Policy Institute in Salt Lake City, acknowledging he didn’t know McMullin well, or much about him.

“I had signaled in the past concerns that I had with my party’s nominee. I’ve made no secret about that and I don’t feel any desire to rehearse those now.… I saw in Evan McMullin an opportunity to register a protest vote.”

OK , we won’t be able to trust this man. Voted for McMullin? Really? He may as well have voted for Hillary.

So he would rather see Hillary win? NO NO NO this man has been and would be a backstabbing weasel.

Anybody this childish should not even be considered.

NO he cannot be trusted to do the right thing.

You're welcome; just stating an unbiased FACT. :-)

It's really a shame that the diehard Cruizites still refuse to see reality.

1. Didn’t do the manly thing and congratulate Trump before the convention.
2. Refused to endorse him at the convention.
3. Stated he would vote for trump, and spent about an hour on the phones for him after the convention.
4. Over a month later, he attended three rallies three days before the election. At the first rally he refused to endorse Trump by name.
5. At the two subsequent rallies that day, he did mention Trump by name.
6. Figuring Ted talked for about 15 minutes at two rallies, that means he spent about 30 minutes supporting Trump

After five and six, Ted and his people claim he won two or three states for Trump on the night of the election.

People spend months on teams working on states and lose them. Ted talks for 30 minutes and wins two or three for Trump. Sorry, that just doesn’t pass the sniff test.

From the time Trump won the delegates needed until the election day, Ted spent about 1.5 hours actually working for Trump.

The rest of the time he told his people to vote their conscience.

If that isn’t a 99.75% NeverTrumper, I don’t know what one is.

Are you seriously telling me you’ll sucker for Ted saying he supported Trump when this is all he did?

I’ll finish this off like so many posts before on the subject. If all of us conducted ourselves like Ted did in 2016, Hillary Clinton would be making judicial appointments right now.

Look guys, be honest with yourself.

Amen! Preach it. Any pol who said or did anything that possibly could have assisted Hillary over Trump is dead to me. HUGE discernment deficit, and lacking in moral character.

I think so too, but Ted has destroyed his chance at a national spot other than the U. S. Senate > IMO.

We’re on the same page.

Some of these people are not as solid as their followers think either.

If you list things that they have or have not done, their supporters ignore them. And then in a days, weeks, or months, they say they’ve never done anything wrong.

Well sure, if you discount all the times they did, like his followers do.

Yes, Lyin’ Ted destroyed his own future and those whom he tries to push/shove down the president’s and our throats, as well! Those ARE the facts; yet, some here refuse to accept reality.
