The Democratic Socialist candidate seeking to represent New York’s 14th Congressional District is facing backlash over her working class “Bronx girl” campaign narrative.
As the Journal News reported, the original online bio for Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez -- the 28-year-old Bernie Sanders protégé who defeated longtime Democratic incumbent U.S. Rep. Joseph Crowley on June 26 -- seemed to suggest that she commuted to a school in the suburbs from her family's home in the Bronx borough of New York City.
But after critics noted that she and her family left the Bronx when she was 5 years old, the bio was changed to imply that the Bronx was home to her "extended family," the newspaper reported.
Still, no mention was made that her family moved to Yorktown, north of the Bronx, where records indicate Ocasio-Cortez lived with her mother and brother until their home was sold in 2016 for $355,500, according to the report.

She won’t eligible to be president or vice president until she is 35 in 2025, which makes her earliest opportunity to run in 2028.

It does not matter if the Left lies. It’s expected by other members of the Left because lies are okay in pursuit of leftist goals. Anything can be forgiven a Leftist like Roman Polanski and Woody Allan, for example. They are Leftists and that means their “hearts” are in the right place so any depravity is okay. It’s okay for Hillary to profit from her government job because, until recently, she was a mainstream Leftist. (The mainstream Left has taken a 90 degree left turn, making “mainstream” Leftists now “right wing.”)
We should encourage Leftists to go even harder left as it more clearly demonstrates what they are, even to voters who would never have noticed the incremental approach that Leftists have used up until now. And, the currently politically employed Left has scrambled to get ahead of where they think the Leftist electorate is going. Any candidate who adopts “Abolish ICE” will probably not be one that the general public will vote for.
I pray that nothing happens to the economy or Trump before the midterms. As it really is the economy and the perceptions of the economy that swings elections. Voters are fickle and pocketbook driven and have the forward looking view of ants.

A $355,000 house in Yorktown is is probably a 1.400 sf raised ranch on .25 acres with 3 bedrooms and one bath. Not homeless, but not exactly a mini-mansion.

No one. Everybody knows Venezuela failed because they didn’t do it right. We’ll be different because we will put the “right” people and the “right” policies in place. It will work this time. (/s)
And, if it doesn’t work it will be the fault that we failed to fully implement the “right” policies due to blowback from the conservatives. And, like the Armenians took the blame for the Ottoman empire’s military failures and were eliminated, so too will the Left eliminate conservatives. It won’t make their policies anymore effective, but it will cement them in power. They will then find a new scapegoat and eliminate it and continue to double-down of failure.
We really need to nip this socialist surge in the bud.

The comments following the article on FoxNews is enlightening. They validate that you really can “fool some of the people all of the time”.
From what she is saying it sounds as if her family gamed (cheated) the system to get her in a better school.

California’s attorney general is reviewing a request by former employees of IndyMac Bancorp Inc to investigate whether a New York senator triggered the bank’s collapse by releasing confidential information.
Of note...After IndyMac’s collapse, Schumer accused the OTS of allowing IndyMac’s lending practices to slip. IndyMac specialized in a type of mortgage that often required minimal documents from borrowers.
And who required that banks lower their lending standards? Might be something to look up to refresh the mind.

I have thought since 2008 that Chuck Schumer had prior knowledge of - or was partially responsible for - economic sabotage that year. He sometimes inadvertently reveals a bit too much, somewhat like a grade-schooler who blurts out something to show off, yet the media is never curious about his prescience. More so than many in the Corrupt Bastards Club, Schumer is connected, and Schumer is dirty.
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is in the minor leagues now, but she has the mendacity to be a real Schumer.
