I will start the argument. Literally insane or extremely unstable people are killing maybe-not-so-insane-or-unstable-people and they are using any means available. Fix the people or get them help and release after sanity returns or keep them under control but don’t blame guns for pulling their own triggers.
And speaking of Chicago: I will not ever visit Chicago or Detroit or any other “Sanctuary” city. Their murderous reputations are horrendous and they generally don’t honor concealed carry. I have a legal right to carry my gun and I will do so on my or our American citizen legal terms.

No absolute authoritarian rule will get rid of them. Actually, it is reasonable to assume that leaders in an authoritarian states are themselves sick and evil. Again, history has proven this.
So allow someone to defend themselves when the police cannot or will not.
Mayor Frank Rizzo knew how to prevent such disturbances.
