Two people are injured after a driver fled from a U.S. Secret Service officer before eventually crashing into an oncoming car in Northern Virginia, the agency said Sunday.
The pursuit began when a Secret Service Officer sought to pull over a vehicle driving the wrong way on I Street NW in Washington, the agency said, according to a statement posted on Twitter by an NBC Washington reporter.
Instead of stopping, however, the driver exited onto I-66 traveling westbound in the eastbound lane, according to the statement. The driver then collided with another vehicle traveling eastbound, before fleeing the scene on foot.
Law enforcement has not apprehended the driver. A passenger in the suspect vehicle sustained non-life threatening injuries and was taken into custody and transported to a hospital. The driver of the impacted vehicle also sustained non-life threatening injuries and was taken to a hospital, the statement reads.
Neither of the injured individuals have been identified. Arlington County Police are the lead investigators on the case and are being assisted by the Secret Service.
The chase and subsequent crash closed down traffic lanes on I-66 at Lee Highway near Rosslyn, Va. early Sunday morning. Lanes reopened at around 7 a.m., according to NBC Washington.
Well they do not mention that they are white male conservatives, so must be another ethnic persuasion.
1) Clowns in America false flag?
2) What did they have on Hillary?
Oh, nothing to see HERE!!
I Street — just north of Pennsylanvia Avenue.....
Probably just the Left trying to take out some of Trump’s possible picks for the Court. Nothing new for them.
Everyday, pray for the safety of President Trump.
Sounds like someone answering the alter call from Maxine Waters.
For the Secret Service to get involved it must be something related.
I am honestly surprised there has not yet been an assassination attempt yet on President Trump’s life.
Wrong way driving and fleeing on foot tend to be an illegal alien moves.
“For the Secret Service to get involved it must be something related.”
They may have been the ones who observed the vehicle driving the wrong way. In DC they function as regular cops on patrol, have jurisdiction over their own cases.
On many one way streets, it’s not hard to turn the wrong way in the wee hours of the morning when there’s no traffic around. I’ve done it once or twice myself. Generally the driver quickly recognizes the error and takes the next turn, or whips a U turn. Unless there’s a police officer around which brings me to a trial on which I was a juror, but that’s a story for another day.
“White House military pass holder”
Back in the old days this wasn’t called an alcohol related incident, it was called having fun, and sometimes fun got out of hand, way out of hand...
“In DC they function as regular cops on patrol”
years ago I read that in the DC area There was something like 21 law enforcement agencies and police forces that have jurisdiction and they are crossed jurisdictional. It’s hard to imagine that they have any problems here but he sees rife with lawlessness...
Why are we suddenly getting posts insisting there’s some sort of normal explanation for this abnormal event?
The late nightedness suggests that could be case.
I expect the ACLU to call for the abolishment of the SS any moment now.
Years ago, I worked with a retired Secret Service officer. She was in the uniformed branch, and mainly patrolled the area around the White House and Capitol building. At one time, she was a guard on the White House entrances, but was reassigned after Clinton moved in. She said that all the female guards were removed from the White House, to protect them from Billy Jeff.
