Did someone mention "professional government"?

Civil War (condensed version) - Daniel Greenfield [January 26, 2018]

https://sultanknish.blogspot.com/2018/01/this-civil-war-my-south-carolina-tea.html

How do civil wars happen?

Two or more sides disagree on who runs the country. And they can’t settle the question through elections because they don’t even agree that elections are how you decide who’s in charge. That’s the basic issue here. Who decides who runs the country? When you hate each other but accept the election results, you have a country. When you stop accepting election results, you have a countdown to a civil war.

The Mueller investigation is about removing President Trump from office and overturning the results of an election. We all know that. But it’s not the first time they’ve done this. The first time a Republican president was elected this century, they said he didn’t really win. The Supreme Court gave him the election. There’s a pattern here.

What do sure odds of the Democrats rejecting the next Republican president really mean? It means they don’t accept the results of any election that they don’t win. It means they don’t believe that transfers of power in this country are determined by elections.

That’s a civil war.

There’s no shooting. At least not unless you count the attempt to kill a bunch of Republicans at a charity baseball game practice. But the Democrats have rejected our system of government.

This isn’t dissent. It’s not disagreement. You can hate the other party. You can think they’re the worst thing that ever happened to the country. But then you work harder to win the next election. When you consistently reject the results of elections that you don’t win, what you want is a dictatorship.

Your very own dictatorship.

The only legitimate exercise of power in this country, according to Democrats, is its own. Whenever Republicans exercise power, it’s inherently illegitimate. The Democrats lost Congress. They lost the White House. So what did they do? They began trying to run the country through Federal judges and bureaucrats. Every time that a Federal judge issues an order saying that the President of the United States can’t scratch his own back without his say so, that’s the civil war.

Our system of government is based on the constitution, but that’s not the system that runs this country. The Democrat’s system is that any part of government that it runs gets total and unlimited power over the country.

If the Democrats are in the White House, then the president can do anything. And I mean anything. He can have his own amnesty for illegal aliens. He can fine you for not having health insurance. His power is unlimited. He’s a dictator.

But when Republicans get into the White House, suddenly the President can’t do anything. He isn’t even allowed to undo the illegal alien amnesty that his predecessor illegally invented. A Democrat in the White House has ‘discretion’ to completely decide every aspect of immigration policy. A Republican doesn’t even have the ‘discretion’ to reverse him. That’s how the game is played. That’s how our country is run. Sad but
true, although the left hasn’t yet won that particular fight.

When a Democrat is in the White House, states aren’t even allowed to enforce immigration law. But when a Republican is in the White House, states can create their own immigration laws. Under Obama, a state wasn’t allowed to go to the bathroom without asking permission. But under Trump, Jerry Brown can go around saying that California is an independent republic and sign treaties with other countries.

The Constitution has something to say about that.

Whether it’s Federal or State, Executive, Legislative or Judiciary, the left moves power around to run the country. If it controls an institution, then that institution is suddenly the supreme power in the land. This is what I call a moving dictatorship.

Donald Trump has caused the Shadow Government to come out of hiding: Professional government is a guild. Like medieval guilds, you can’t serve in it if you’re not a member. If you haven’t been indoctrinated into its arcane rituals. If you aren’t in the club. And Trump isn’t in the club. He brought in a bunch of people who aren’t in the club with him.

Now we’re seeing what the pros do when amateurs try to walk in on them. They spy on them, they investigate them, and they send them to jail. They use the tools of power to bring them down.

That’s not a free country.

It’s not a free country when FBI agents who support Hillary take out an ‘insurance policy’ against Trump winning the election. It’s not a free country when Obama officials engage in massive unmasking of the opposition. It’s not a free country when the media responds to the other guy winning by trying to ban the conservative media that supported him from social media. It’s not a free country when all of the above collude together to overturn an election because the guy who wasn’t supposed to win did.

Have no doubt, we’re in a civil war between conservative volunteer government and a leftist Democrat professional government

Hope they’re not profiting from their outrageous behavior

That's a short-term thing.

Most Progressives aren't good on the long-term thing.

It is not my fault you think throwing the baby out with the bathwater is a legitimate policy option.

The "baby" in this case is the spawn of Satan ... I'd rather throw out that "baby" and keep the bathwater.

All it proves is the need to find more competent experts.

ROFL!!!

The first thing I look for in a politician is experience with the real world ... that rules out almost all so-called "experts".

My only disagreement with the good Sultan in that article is this:

It's not "Democrats against Republicans". It's the professional political class against We the People. The problem with Donald Trump isn't that he's a Republican. It isn't even that he isn't Hillary Clinton (who was the political class's anointed successor to Barackulus Magnus). It's that Donald Trump represents and works for We the People. And that, they find completely intolerable.

Name the restaurant.

Truly. Make it infamous and describe the bartender who needs a new job cleaning outhouses since he's so rude.

So what are your qualifications to claim "reasonable man" status? "We The People" presumes an informed electorate, and thus far you have not demonstrated the kind of acumen the founders hoped independence would foster in Americans.

I think we are at the point where every prominent Trump Administration Official deserves Secret Service protection. Stephen Miller should get an agent to escort him to work and to his condo.

I don't have to claim "qualifications". And I have already demonstrated more acumen than you have ... you claim "successful performance", but not at what. I, at least, recognize that professional politicians are the problem, not the solution. You're stuck in the old, failed mode of seeking political "experts". Barack Hussein 0bama and his professional politician cronies performed VERY successfully as President ... to our detriment and dismay. Enough of them and their ilk! Our Constitution outlined a form of government that only works when those who govern are also subject to the rules they create. Instead, we have allowed "professionals" and "experts" to hijack our formerly Constitutional government; to make of it a scheme whereby they enrich themselves and grant themselves unchecked power. And you want more of this?

Good Lord! I thought you were a Trump supporter. I thought you wanted to drain the swamp! Looks like you just want to replace one set of swampocrats with another.

This guy's a troll--another member of the curious class of '98--who appears to have a deep disdain for his fellow Americans.

Why's he here on Freerepublic? He's spent the better part of today on various threads picking fights. He's a waste of time.

a deep disdain for his fellow Americans.

The snobbery inherent in sneering at people with real lives instead of Ivy League law or poli-sci degrees is appalling. The bartender in question is a card-carrying creep; a jerk, a louse, and an all-around no-goodnik. All of which has nothing to do with his being a bartender and everything to his being a leftist ... sort of like certain Ivy-educated jackasses like ... oh, I don't know ... Hillary Clinton? Barack Hussein 0bama? Ruth Bader Ginsburg?

Incorrect. I'm just not so foolish as to think a bartender is as qualified to judge policy decisions as anyone else.

And that disqualification especially extends to YOU. You've managed to squeeze out half a dozen paragraphs against me with nothing more informing you about me than my disagreement with your position.

I believe its safe to say you give yourself FAR more credit than you deserve.

Hah!

It's not about you, personally any more than it's about me, personally.

I don't really care what your alleged "qualifications" might be. They're irrelevant.

The problem here is that you and your fellow snob sneer at someone because he's a bartender (a profession which requires work directly with paying customers and contact with the real world). So what? Is a bartender incapable of thinking? Is a bartender incapable of reading? Does a bartender not have the right to form a political opinion. Does he not have the right to express said opinion? Does he not have the right to VOTE according to said opinion? Is his opinion necessarily of less value than someone else's, because he's a bartender and that "someone else" is a self proclaimed expert?

What utter drivel you propose! Of course he can think. Of course he enjoys the same rights as you and I! And his opinion, based on living and working in the real world rather than the political echo chamber, may well be of greater value than the supposed expert.

And you have the right to sneer at him anyway.

And I have the right to recognize you for the ignorant, arrogant snob that you are.

Good Day.

The Dims and Libs who attack and harass Trump’s staff and his supporters are less than shit!!!!

That goes double for the owner and staff of the “Red Hen” and the “teacher” who harassed Scott Pruitt because he does not “believe in global warming”. The last statement was echoed by the Fake Indian Elizabeth Warren, who said that the new EPA administrator MUST “believe in global warming”. It sounds like some sort of religious test!!!!

I hope that the Red Hen goes out of business very soon, and that many of the Dim miscreants are charged with crimes and end up in prison. PHOOEY to all of them!!!!

Again, you are incorrect. I and my fellow snobs are sneering AT YOU for your presumption as well as your "proud to be ignorant" atitude.
