DC City Council Chairman Phil Mendelson announced Monday that he along with several other council members would introduce a bill during Tuesday's session to repeal Initiative 77, the city's newly-passed $15 an hour minimum wage.

(Snip)

"I don't believe the law that Initiative 77 would put into place is good for our city, good for our restaurant industry or good for our workers," Evans told a local ABC affiliate. Evans and others on the city council as well as Democratic Mayor Muriel Bowser have long been critical of the initiative.

The time to stop bad legislation is BEFORE it becomes law. But if you opposed this socialist nonsense a year ago, you’d have been called a racist, a sexist, and a capitalist oppressor.

Reverse it? Do you mean people have to pay the company $15 an hour to work?

As I understand the article, this was an initiative passed by the voters. However in D.C., the council has the ability to override the voters.

I have no doubt that the restaurant owners turned the air blue with angry cell phone calls.

So many illegals work in restaurants why pay more?

I can see all the Peruvian chicken places and Guatemalan fast food joints close if $15 is law.

THAT is not a Good Thing no matter where it happens!

However in D.C., the council has the ability to override the voters.

This is simply setting the stage then for a Tea Party-style rebellion from the Left. There will be outrage, these clowns will be shown the door at the next election, and the wage will be voted back in.

Right or wrong, people don't like elites overriding their ballot box decisions.

Oh no you don’t! You liberal POS’s deserve to live with the commie bee hive you stirred up!

Conservatives need a unnamed PAC to sponsor TV ads in DC DEMANDING $15+ hr plus free health care and 401-K for all the part-time fast food layabouts that show up for work.

This is very logical.

You figure every restaurant in DC is probably wired like a pinball.

With wages going to a mandatory $15/hr all of places were leaks happen will dissappear.
